STRANGE CEILING
During installation of the gypsumceiling, cut out
the desired hole (74x74mm 1 lamp, 74x164mm 2
lamps) and insert the aluminium frame from above.
Fix the frame with screws from underneath
through the perforated aluminium brackets of
the frame.
Adjust the height of the frame till it is level
with the ceiling.
Finish the gap around, if necessary, and paint
the ceiling in the desired colour.
MOUNTING IN A CEILING UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Cut the desired opening 74x101mm (for 1
lamp) and 74x191mm (for two lamps) and
insert the aluminium frame from above.
Bring the frame into the ceiling, turn the two
brackets till they are in a straight position.
Fix the frame with screws from underneath
through the perforated aluminium brackets of
the frame and adjust the height of the frame.
Fill the side openings with joint fi ller and paint
the ceiling in the desired colour.

and insert the aluminium frame.

Once the gypsum board is fi xed into the wall,
turn the two brackets until they are in a straight
position and adjust the height of the frame.
Finish the gap around if necessary and paint
the wall in the desired colour.
INSTALLATION OF THE LUMINAIRE
Insert the lamp unit, connect the power supply
and fi x the screws into the holes of the bracket
which is mounted on the aluminium frame.
Insert the aluminium housing and fi x it on the
same brackets that lamp unit is on.
Insert the refl ector until the inside springs clip
into the refl ector.
Lamp replacement is carried by turning the
glass 20° and sliding it out the glass (this
system only for Strange 50-70-100-200).

Cut the desired opening and insert the timber
frame on to which the recessed box will be
mounted.
Fix the timber frame by screwing it from
underneath the gypsum.
Insert the recessed box. Fix the recessed box to the wooden frame
from the sides.
The recessed box has a thickness of 15mm
and bevelled edges to simplify the fi lling of the
borders. Finish the side of the box with special
fi nisher and paint the box and ceiling in the
desired colour.
Connect the Hide luminairies to the remote
transformer (MR16 and QR111) or remote
electronic gear (HIT-CRI).
Screw the Hide luminairies into the Hide box. Adjust the lamps.

For installations where luminaires (with fl uorescent lamps and high-pressure gas discharge lamps) are used with conventional ballasts, one must take the reactive power into account. It is precisely
this reactive power which causes costs for the electricity companies and this should be limited. Theoretically, for a power factor of 1, no reactive energy should be measured. But in practice we
reactive current, a power factor of at least 0.8 is obtained. The power factor can now be improved with the aid of capacitors. All W&D appliances marked with are standard compensated.

WHAT IS DALI?
DALI (digital addressable lighting interface) is a two-way communication system that brings digital technology to lighting. An international standard for communication, DALI defi nes the commands that bal-
appropriate software, or building management systems (BMS).
DALI sends messages around, and just like computer networks, those messages are picked up by the ballasts via addresses. The ballast with that address picks it up and follows the instruction. A simple
message would be, ‘All lights in Room 10 turn off.’ You send that message, and all the lights in Room 10 know who they are. They pick up that message and say, ‘It says here I’m supposed to turn off.’ And
that’s what happens.
DALI is similar to a 0-10V system due to features like low-voltage wiring and daylight harvesting capabilities. Communication in a 0-10V system is unidirectional; the control system tells the ballast what to
do, and it adjusts according to the voltage on the control circuit. DALI, on the other hand, provides a two-way method of communication, giving the ballast a chance to communicate as well.

1. We recommend that all Exterior groundspots should be installed with a drainage level.
2. When you install a fi xture outside, make sure you use the right IP-rating. Also make sure that the cable connection is also IP67 or 68!
3. Make sure when assembling all the parts, there is no pollution between sealing surface!
