ΡEΘΥΜΝΟ: ΕΥΡΩΠΑΪKΉ ΠΟΛΉ ΚΡΑΣΙOΥ 2018-ΔIΚΤΥΟ RECEVINΤο Ρέθυμνο διακρίθηκε ως Ευρωπαϊκή Πόλη Κρασιού για το 2018 από το Ευρωπαϊκό Δίκτυο Οινικών Πόλεων RECEVIN. Το Ευρωπαϊκό Δίκτυο Πόλεων του Κρασιού RECEVIN, δημιουργήθηκε το 2000, με στόχο την προώθηση και την ενίσχυση των περιοχών που συνδέονται οικονομικά με την οινοποιία. Τα μέλη του Δικτύου συνιστούν περίπου 800 ευρωπαϊκές πόλεις (ή ομάδες πόλεων), οι οποίες προστατεύονται από την εγγύηση της ποιότητας των κρασιών τους. Οι βασικοί στόχοι του Δικτύου είναι η εκπροσώπηση των συμφερόντων των μελών του στα ευρωπαϊκά θεσμικά όργανα, η προώθηση του οινοτουρισμού, η ανάπτυξη δράσεων, η ανταλλαγή εμπειριών, η σύναψη σταθερών συνεργασιών και η διάδοση καλών πρακτικών.

Για το Ρέθυμνο, η φετινή διάκριση αποτελεί μια εξαιρετική και πολύτιμη ευκαιρία για την ουσιαστική προβολή της τοπικής αμπελουργικής και οινικής παράδοσης ολόκληρης της Κρήτης, για την υποστήριξη της προσπάθειας των νέων οινοποιών, οινολόγων και αμπελουργών, καθώς και για την ενίσχυση της παγκόσμιας τουριστικής αγοράς, μια και η γαστρονομία και, πολύ περισσότερο ο κλάδος των επισκέψιμων οινοποιείων, έχει πλέον ενταχθεί με έμφαση στη λειτουργία του τουρισμού.

Έχει ήδη συσταθεί Ομάδα Εργασίας για τις δράσεις του Rethymno Recevin, η οποία έχει καταρτίσει ατζέντα δράσεων μέχρι και τον Μάρτιο του 2019, με κύριο στόχο, την προβολή των εξαιρετικών γηγενών ποικιλιών του Κρητικού Αμπελώνα, αλλά και τον σωστό τρόπο κατανάλωσης και απόλαυσης του οίνου.

THE HEART OF WINE BEATS IN THE HEART OF CRETE: RETHYMNO IS CELEBRATING THE AWARD OF EUROPEAN WINE CITY 2018!Great news for wine-lovers! Rethymno is celebrating the award of European Wine City 2018 by RECEVIN European Network, opening thus a new page for wine experience and wine-tourism.

The local producers, based on the high quality of the 11 indigenous varieties (Vilana, Vidiano, Dafni, Thrapsathiri, Kotsifali, Liatiko, Malvazia di Candia, Mantilari, Muscat of Spina, Plito and Romeiko) and by combining the tradition with the modern know-how, continue to produce an excellent raw material.

Many cultural and culinary actions are planned, both for professionals and the public, throughout the year: you can follow a wine-route, visit a winemaker, taste special cocktails based on wine and served in the best bars of the city, attend art events and exhibitions inspired by wine’s journey throughout the centuries and explore the enchanting process of wine-making through seminars, workshops and conferences.

This year, Rethymno will be the meeting point for all the dedicated wine-lovers! Don’t miss the chance to be part of the celebration!
