Pamplona, February 2014 Dear friends, Like every year, we would like to present a new edition of what is becoming the traditional Paediatric Orthopaedic Seminar. It will take place in Madrid this year on 23-25 October, 2014. The central topic this year is “Paediatric Orthopaedics” and, in order to make it more interesting and worthwhile for participants, the focus will be predominantly practical, with the presentation and discussion of Clinical Cases taking centre stage at the Seminar. Obviously, the theoretical part of the event will not be over looked and as usual will consist of lectures given by speakers on the most important subjects. As you will see, this year we again have the honour and fortune of welcoming some truly outstanding figures in International Paediatric Orthopaedics. They represent many different nationalities and professional organisations from places Libano, Mexico, Finland, Canada. We believe that this is a unique opportunity to appreciate the diversity of approaches in our discipline, which without doubt, will be greatly beneficial to us all. This year we also have a significant and prominent “home” representation among the speakers and we are confident that, together with those already mentioned, they will ensure this Seminar maintains the same high level of interest and scientific value as the previous ones. The afternoon before the Seminar, in the same venue, we will have a Mini-Seminar on “Surgery of the Growth Plate” to which you are all invited. As always, we are truly grateful to everyone who has helped us with enthusiasm and continues to help us to organize these Seminars each year. We sincerely hope that the preliminary information attached will spark your interest and motivate you to come to Madrid at the end of October, 2014. And as we always say, let’s learn from each other. • GENERAL INFORMATION

SEMINAR OBJECTIVES The annual Seminar on Paediatrics Orthopaedics aim to inform the attendees

about concepts, controversies, and the current state of the main issues concerning the pathology of the locomotive system in infancy and adolescence.

FORMAT The Seminar is a review of the speciality, broken down by topic, and presented

by well-known international authorities on the subject. Following is an open, comprehensive discussion among the attendees.

Poster presentation by the audience will be also done. AUDIENCE The Seminar is directed at residents in orthopaedic surgery and traumatology and

related specialities (rheumatology, rehabilitation, paediatrics, etc) as well as specialist doctors with particular interest in continuing education in paediatric orthopaedics and traumatology.

• POSTER PRESENTATION

Attendees to the XIX International Seminar on Paediatric Orthopaedics are invited to send Abstracts of scientific posters to be presented during the seminar. Please send them from May 2014 to 1th October 2014 so they can be judged. The abstracts must not exceed 250 words in length and will only be sent by electronic means in order to speed up their processing and publication in the conference book. Recommended Measurements: 90 cm (width) 110 cm (height).
