How can you track pathway progress?
Access your students’ learning accountUse their learning account to:• check personal details as recorded by the school
• view enrolments and results• track progress towards a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE)
• check QCE and OP-eligibility• find out how changes to your enrolments will affect your QCE eligibility.
• Access by entering your LUI and default password is day and month of birth (DD/MM)
• Your LUI can be found by accessing the One School Learning Place (where you went to complete your SETPlan) https://studentconnect.qcaa.qld.edu.au/
Review your student’s Level of Achievement (LOA) and position within that LOA
▪ Ranges from 1 – 25.▪ Calculation: students are assigned a Subject Achievement Indicator (between
200 and 400), based on their performance in relation to other students and the spread within the subject.
▪ In small subjects of 12 students or less – Math C, Music, Physics, Chinese – an SAI is assigned only based on the student’s rung placement.
▪ This is scaled using QCS test results within the subject.▪ Scaled SAIs from best 20 semesters are then converted to an Overall
Achievement Indicator (OAI). This is scaled using the whole cohort performance on the QCS test.
▪ The OAI is then converted to a 1-25 OP.
QCAA website link: https://www.qcaa.qld.edu.au/downloads/senior/te_op_basics.pdf
The OP (Overall Position)
▪ Students get their best result possible in every subject and every OP eligible student performs well on the QCS test.
▪ It is not just about level of achievement. It is about getting the highest RUNG PLACEMENT possible. There’s a big difference between an SA1 and an SA 10.
▪ Every assessment in year 12 is summative. It will count towards exit level of achievement, which impacts both QCE attainment and OP.
What’s important?
OP students are always aiming to climb higher up the ladder. There’s 50 rungs to the top!
2016 predictionsStudents were issued predictions in 2016. Please keep in mind –these could be significantly inaccurate.
No subject had summative assessment in year 11. A student’s result can change from year 11 to year 12.
Predictions were not issued using the groups QCS practice data.
Predictions based on Term 1 results, and using real group QCS data, will be very important.
QCS TEST
The QCS test directly assesses students ability to use the CCEs.
Current year 10, 11, and 12 students will sit the QCS test – each will receive preparation for the QCS test.

The OP (Overall Position)
QCS TEST
Some important things to note:• Group performance on the QCS test is very important.• Students who perform well (e.g. achieve an A) on the QCS test are
not disadvantaged if the group does not perform as well. There are checks and balances in place within the scaling system to allow for anomalies.
• The QCS test is one method the QCAA uses to ensure consistency in results / OPs issued across the state. The other is verification.
Statewide 2016
▪ 2 lessons per week. This will run until the test in September.
▪ Preparation also occurs in every subject – students need to perform to the best of their ability in every class to best prepare for the QCS test.
▪ Full practice sessions with the group who marked practice SR testpapers: March 21, April 18, May 23
▪ Second round of full practice test in semester 1 May 2 / 3.
QCS preparation 2017
Verification
▪End of term 3 / start of term 4▪All OP (authority) subjects must participate in the process of verification.▪This involves a sample of student work in the subject being sent to a panel to verify accuracy in teacher judgment.
