We are from Taiwan!

From the16th century, Taiwan was once known to the world as the “ILHA Formosa” (“Beautiful Island” in Portuguese)!

Our beautiful hometown, Kaohsiung city, Taiwan (R.O.C)

Page 12: Year 2040 by team Taiwan 2: Kaohsiung municipal Fu-Dong elementary school students in 18th Asian-Pacific Children’s Convention in Fukuoka, Japan Junior

But the development of economy & the traffic, somehow make our beautiful Taiwan polluted. It happens all over the world too.

What will the life in year 2040 be?

• We should all be happy & healthy in our fifties, right?

• But according to what we’ve learned at school, and all information we’ve got from all the media, we see terrible things that may happen to us then, like the worst nightmares.

Page 18: Year 2040 by team Taiwan 2: Kaohsiung municipal Fu-Dong elementary school students in 18th Asian-Pacific Children’s Convention in Fukuoka, Japan Junior

Energy consumption all over the world may cause air pollution, and air pollution may cause “greenhouse effects”.

Page 19: Year 2040 by team Taiwan 2: Kaohsiung municipal Fu-Dong elementary school students in 18th Asian-Pacific Children’s Convention in Fukuoka, Japan Junior

“Greenhouse effect” may make the temperature on the earth go higher. Icebergs in the north or the south poles will begin to melt.

Page 20: Year 2040 by team Taiwan 2: Kaohsiung municipal Fu-Dong elementary school students in 18th Asian-Pacific Children’s Convention in Fukuoka, Japan Junior

The water could destroy many island countries in the world. Many places in this world map could be disappear forever!

Page 21: Year 2040 by team Taiwan 2: Kaohsiung municipal Fu-Dong elementary school students in 18th Asian-Pacific Children’s Convention in Fukuoka, Japan Junior

The weather may change dramatically just like it was in the movie “THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW”. Maybe we’ll get back to another glacier period……

Page 22: Year 2040 by team Taiwan 2: Kaohsiung municipal Fu-Dong elementary school students in 18th Asian-Pacific Children’s Convention in Fukuoka, Japan Junior

Or, it may just become hotter & hotter. Water may dry out, or be

polluted.

In the end, more than 10 billions of people in this world will simply have no enough water to use at the year 2040.

Page 23: Year 2040 by team Taiwan 2: Kaohsiung municipal Fu-Dong elementary school students in 18th Asian-Pacific Children’s Convention in Fukuoka, Japan Junior

The weather change may cause famine,

Page 24: Year 2040 by team Taiwan 2: Kaohsiung municipal Fu-Dong elementary school students in 18th Asian-Pacific Children’s Convention in Fukuoka, Japan Junior

And famine can cause riots, or even…… wars!!

Page 25: Year 2040 by team Taiwan 2: Kaohsiung municipal Fu-Dong elementary school students in 18th Asian-Pacific Children’s Convention in Fukuoka, Japan Junior

Also, at school, we learnt that each day around the world, more and more rain forests are cut down or burned for different reasons.

Page 26: Year 2040 by team Taiwan 2: Kaohsiung municipal Fu-Dong elementary school students in 18th Asian-Pacific Children’s Convention in Fukuoka, Japan Junior

There won’t be enough rain forests to make clean air for us to breathe in the future. We may get lung diseases.

Page 27: Year 2040 by team Taiwan 2: Kaohsiung municipal Fu-Dong elementary school students in 18th Asian-Pacific Children’s Convention in Fukuoka, Japan Junior

And the gas that protect us from the radiation from the sun may also be gone. We may get skin cancer easily.

Page 28: Year 2040 by team Taiwan 2: Kaohsiung municipal Fu-Dong elementary school students in 18th Asian-Pacific Children’s Convention in Fukuoka, Japan Junior

We don’t want to see the things that happen in the E-mail “A letter from 2070” happen to us as well……

Page 29: Year 2040 by team Taiwan 2: Kaohsiung municipal Fu-Dong elementary school students in 18th Asian-Pacific Children’s Convention in Fukuoka, Japan Junior

So, as APCC Junior Ambassadors around the world, what can we do together, to avoid the bad days to

come?

Page 30: Year 2040 by team Taiwan 2: Kaohsiung municipal Fu-Dong elementary school students in 18th Asian-Pacific Children’s Convention in Fukuoka, Japan Junior

BCs connect the world!

Page 31: Year 2040 by team Taiwan 2: Kaohsiung municipal Fu-Dong elementary school students in 18th Asian-Pacific Children’s Convention in Fukuoka, Japan Junior

Tell everybody what we’re worrying about here! Maybe we can prevent things from getting worse, if we stand together & show our voices to the world!

Page 32: Year 2040 by team Taiwan 2: Kaohsiung municipal Fu-Dong elementary school students in 18th Asian-Pacific Children’s Convention in Fukuoka, Japan Junior

40 years later, our next generations should also have the same rights, same chances to share the same beautiful memories like we do.

Page 33: Year 2040 by team Taiwan 2: Kaohsiung municipal Fu-Dong elementary school students in 18th Asian-Pacific Children’s Convention in Fukuoka, Japan Junior

Not only for ourselves, but also we hope that people all over the world are safe, happy, and healthy at the year 2040!

Page 34: Year 2040 by team Taiwan 2: Kaohsiung municipal Fu-Dong elementary school students in 18th Asian-Pacific Children’s Convention in Fukuoka, Japan Junior

At that time and ever after, we’ll all celebrate having them all around the

earth together!

Page 35: Year 2040 by team Taiwan 2: Kaohsiung municipal Fu-Dong elementary school students in 18th Asian-Pacific Children’s Convention in Fukuoka, Japan Junior
