If you heat water to 100 degrees Celsius, it boils.

Konstrukcja

If + Present Simple + Present Simple If it rains, I take my umbrella with me. Jeśli pada, biorę ze sobą swoją parasolkę.

Możemy również zamienić kolejność wyrażeń w tym zdaniu pamiętając jednak, że if/when oraz pierwsza część zdania są nierozerwalne i muszą zostać przeniesione razem.

I take my umbrella with me if it rains.

Przykłady

If you don’t water your plants, they die. - Jeśli nie podlewasz kwiatów, to usychają. If I go on holidays, I never use room service. If you want to leave a message, speak after the tone. - Jeśli chcesz zostawić wiadomość, mów po sygnale. If you heat ice, it melts. - Jeśli podgrzejesz lód, roztopi się

Co zamiast if?

If możemy zastąpić słowami:

When - kiedy As soon as - tak długo jak, dopóki Unless - jeśli nie Provided that/ Providing - pod warunkiem, że On condition that - pod warunkiem, że Imagine - Wyobraź (sobie) Given that - Uwzględniając to, że Assuming that - Przyjmując, że In case - w wypadku Supposed that/ supposing - przypuszczając, że

Enjoy!
