Themissionofthe18thAggressorSquadronistoproviderealistic,combatadversarytraininginair,spaceandinformationoperations.Aggressorsquadronsuseenemytactics,techniques,andprocedurestogivearealisticsimulationofaircombat.

Inshort,theF16softhe18thAggressorSquadronplaytheroleofthebadguys.

Inthephotosnotetheweaponsloadout,acaptiveAIM9LandanAN/APX95TACTSPod.CaptiveAIM9Lmissileshaveliveseekerheadsbuttherestofthemissileisnonfunctional.Thebluebandsonthemissilebodysignifythatitisatrainingmissile.TheAN/APX95TACTSPodisanairborneairdatasensor,electronicaltimeter,andinertiasensorusedtosend

datatogroundreceivingstations.Asatrainingtool,itisusedtojudgetheeffectsofsimulatedweaponsfire.

ThiswasanoutoftheboxbuildexceptfortheAN/APX95TACTSPodandtheseatbeltsIaddedtotheejectionseat.TheTACTSPodisfromtheHaseagawaAircraftWeapons:Dkit.Thiswasastraightforwardkittobuildbecausethepartsfitwereexcellent.Notethoughthetwocanopypartshadpartinglinesdownthemiddlewhichhadtobesandedout.Andit

requiredsomeextrasandingtogetthepiecestofitintoplace.

AllpaintsusedforthismodelwereairbrushedwithModelMastersandFloquilenamelpaints.ThemodelhereispaintedinthenewArcticpaintscheme:CamouflageGrayFS36622,DarkGullGrayFS36231,andSemiGlossBlack.ThelandinggearsandwheelwellswerepaintedwithFloquilReeferWhite,andthenoseconeDarkGrayFS36176.NotethattheArcticpaintscheme(Black,White,andGray)isjustoneofthreepaintschemesusedbythe18thAggressorSquadron.Thereis

theBlue/GrayCamouflageschemeandtheBrown/GreenCamouflagescheme.

DecalsThedecalsforthiskitwereflawless.Theyarewellprinted,easilyplacedonthemodelandsnuggeddownnicelytothemodel.Thekitoffersdecalsforfouraircraft.IchosetogowiththedecalsforaircraftnumberAF86290.Lookingatthemodelphotosonemightgettheimpressionthattherearenotalotofdecals.Trustmethereareatonofdecalsonthis
