Statue of TOTO-chan, the little squirrel

The little squirrel statue, TOTO-chan, in front of Omiya station's east gate is a popular meet up spot.Ardija is a Spanish word for squirrel.

A shopping street extending east and west between Ginza-dori Ave and Kyu-Nakasendo Ave.Every shop on this street joins hands together to support Omiya Ardija.

The street lights and flower beds along the street are unified in orange color to live up to its name .

Omiya, meaning a great shrine is actually a reference to Hikawa-jinja Shrine, one of Japan's prominent old shrine with a history of over 2000 years.

Built in 1960 as Japan's first soccer-specific stadium, currently serves as home stadium for OmiyaArdija and for J-League matches.

There are plenty of beautiful trees such as cherry blossoms in the park which are good for enjoyingseasonal changes in the four seasons, as well as a small family-friendly zoo.

Heisei Hiroba is a park part of the Hikawa-Sando, you can enjoy taking a stroll under the zelkovaand cherry blossom trees.

The footprints of Omiya Ardija's team members and coach were set up outside the Takashimayadepartment store to celebrate the team's promotion to J1.

Saitama City is home to J-League club Omiya Ardija and affiliated facilities including the club's home stadium, NACK5 Stadium Omiya and club shop Orange Square. As well as home to many other family-friendly spots such as Omiya Park and Musashi Ichinomiya Hikawa-jinja Shrine. Whether you are a soccer fan or a family, this route can be enjoyed by all.
