GIVI ASIA HIGHLIGHTSA DECADE OF EXCELLENCE 2010
“ zooming the way from it’s beginning... ”
| 2010 | The BrandLaureate Award ‘107677
FROM GIVI CHAIRMANMay I first congratulate Mr. On Thiam Chai and Mr. On Hai Swee for their enterprising spirit and for their far-sightedness, which joined with our forces, has resulted
in such a success. Secondly I would like to thank all members of GIVI ASIA staff for their goodwill and for their constant commitment to improvement.
We started our challenge about 15 years ago, and the many difficulties notwithstanding, as well as the constantly changing economic trends, we have been able
to reach a high production standard and our accessories are currently successfully sold in Malaysia and in the majority of the South East Asia countries.
Of course a thank you is also due to all our local importers, dealers and customers, who have granted us their support, and for which we constantly try to
demonstrate our maximum commitment in delivering high-quality products as well as a professional after-sales service and customer care.
I also take the opportunity to thank our Overseas Operation Manager, Mr. Joseph Perucca, for his commitment and dedication that has enabled GIVI Asia to grow
on the marketing and sales organisation side, and more generally helped to improve the whole company structure.
The results achieved as of today are a strong factor in our constant motivation and investments which allow us always to search for new goals and new
technological frontiers, and to maintain the philosophy of our company which is to ultimately offer all motorcyclists a safer and more enjoyable riding experience!
FROM GIVI VICE CHAIRMANWhat 17 years ago was a vision today has became not only a substantial reality, but a motivation and inspiration. The experience gained over the years in adapting
our principles and technological know-how to foreign market has allowed us to expand our reach to many new markets.
Over the last 10 years, the experience and motivation gained by the success of GIVI ASIA has allowed us to expand our interest and operation to other area and
continents, and the latest opening of our facility in Vietnam last year, is an example on how we still have the same vision and enthusiasm we all felt at the beginning
of our joint venture in Malaysia.
Today GIVI is a brand, which is present in over 85 different countries in the world, and even so we are still searching for new challenges and keep moving toward
new goal. Although we have aged and gained experience, we still feel young at hearts and our philosophy still remain intact. The willingness to bring our
experience, quality, commitment and passion give us the strength to maintain our grow in innovation and to keep searching for solution and way to make the every
day journey of our motorcyclist customer and friends more enjoyable.
All of this would have not been possible, without the customerÕs support, loyalty and help, and for this I would like to extend my thanks to all that people which are
part of a truly worldwide family.

FROM GIVI ASIA MANAGING DIRECTORThe issue of this Highlights is published to share our recent milestones in GIVI Asia Sdn BhdÕs history and our gratitude to our valued customers for their continued support. In the past two years, GIVI has enjoyed a tremendous branding success in the local scene. Yes, we have come a long way since our humble beginnings in 1994. Our heartfelt thanks goes out to our team at GIVI Asia and our loyal customers who have played an important role in uplifting our status as one of the leading brands in the motorcycle industry in Malaysia. In 2006, GIVI Asia played an important role in the local motorcycle sports scene most notably the MotoGP06 in Sepang. In an effort to reward our customersÕ loyalty, we kicked off the MotoGP season with a meet-the-fans session with Casey Stoner, our star rider with Team LCR back then. In 2007, we started the year with our renewed zest in the Malaysian Cub Prix Championship. We forged a strong partnership with Yamaha for their 135 LC challenge resulting in the Yamaha GIVI Cup series. It is part of our efforts to promote motorsports and build new talents in the motorcycle race arena. Aside from motorsports, GIVI Asia also marked a new chapter in business excellence. To meet the rising demands of the Malaysian market and our growth in South East Asian markets, we opened a new warehouse at our manufacturing facility in Bukit Beruntung. The new warehouse brings the total built-up area of our manufacturing plant to 100,000 sq. ft., which was necessary to grow our overseas export to 50 per cent from 30 per cent previously. This is also in line with our expansion into European and South American markets. Our efforts to grow beyond Malaysian shores earned us a Top 20 spot in the Enterprise 50 Award programme organised by the Small and Medium Industries Development Corporation and Deloitte Malaysia. The award, supported by the Ministry of international Trade and Industry, celebrates the achievements of enterprising homegrown companies that are well positioned for the future. This recognition reflects our commitment to maintain a high standard in our products and services as well as motivate us to work harder to exceed our customersÕ expectations. A further feather in GIVIÕs cap was achieved when we won the prestigious and very coveted Brand Laureate Awards 2009 Ð 2010. The Brand Laureate Award is an annual event to promote branding in Malaysia and the Asia Pacific region. It also serves to identify and nurture outstanding Malaysian entrepreneurs to be transformed into global brands. At GIVI, we are part of a strong global brand and we always believe that we are able to deliver new and value added propositions to our customers. It is this belief that goes into the development of every GIVI product. It is our way of sharing our success with all Malaysians especially the seven million motorcycles on the road in the country. Lastly, I would like to thank our Italian partners for giving us the opportunity to showcase ourselves and make the GIVI brand a household name in the motorcycle industry in Asia.
FROM GIVI OVERSEAS OPERATIONAL MANAGERNot only a book of 100 smiles, but of a thousand moments, where the effort to succeed has been captured by cameras and shared with all of you in this publication.
These moments have been motivated by the inspiring vision of our Chairman Mr. Giuseppe Visenzi, and became reality with the perseverance and work, of Mr. On
Hai Swee, our local partner and Managing Director of GIVI Asia. Rest assured that without the support of all our customers, who have given us the attention and help
needed, we would never have achieved these goals.
On a personal note, I take this occasion to give my sincere thanks to all the people I have encountered and established business relationships with during the last few
years. Some of these have now matured into relationships where trust and understanding has resulted not only in helping me and our company to achieve professional
success, but more importantly they have given me the opportunity to learn and appreciate a different culture and enriched my understanding of life!
And finally, I cannot think of any better way to close this letter than with the proverbial: TO BE CONTINUEDÉÉÉ
JOSEPH ANDREA PERUCCA
ON HAI SWEE
GIVIÕs most successful story continues with the
founding of GIVI Asia in the country, and it all
kicked-off with the creation of the GIVI AsiaÕs first
factory in Malaysia. From a built-up area of 8,000
sq. ft. in 1997 with only 5 workers, GIVI Asia had
confidently fought to overcome the various
challenges, and to grow as one of the most
prominent motorcycle accessory manufacturers in
the country. With specific bits, jigs and moulds
brought in from GIVI Italy, the new manufacturing
plant was a technical tour-de-force insofar as
motorcycle accessory production was concerned.
1997..THE BEGINNING OF GIVI ASIA
GIVI ASIA TODAYSince 1997, with further investments from its principal confirmed, GIVI Asia decided to build an extension to the manufacturing plant as part of its continued support for the brand. Thus from the initial built-up area
of 8,000 sq. ft., the new extension saw the manufacturing facility expand to a colossal 100,000 sq. ft. GIVI Asia was now set to bring top quality products that meet stringent European and other international
standards to the rapidly growing Asian markets and motorcycling world.
With the increased number of staff from double digits to more than 120, GIVI Asia produces boxes, helmets, racks for the boxes and windshields for export to Asian countries including Japan. The plant manufactures
more than 40,000 units of GIVI boxes, helmets and accessories monthly, with 30 per cent for export and the remaining 70 per cent for local consumption. GIVI Asia started to be active in various launches of new
products, marketing road shows and exhibitions from 2003.
Obtaining the Enterprise 50 Award in 2007, GIVI has won another award for being one of the Best Brands in Motorcycle Accessories in The BrandLaureate Awards 2009 Ð 2010. These two awards have added to
another milestone for GIVI Asia. This recognition reflects GIVI AsiaÕs commitment to maintain a high standard in products and services, and further fuels its desire and commitment to work harder to exceed the
customersÕ expectations.

Stemming from the passion of our founder, Giuseppe Visenzi,
a successful world-championship motorcycle racer in the
1960s, the symbiotic relationship between GIVI and bike
racing has always been very strong. Through the years, GIVI
progressed by likening its own image to the popularity and
exuberant image of the motorcycle world-championship itself.
The next step in this direction came in 2006 with GIVI’s foray
into the MotoGP scene with the sponsorship of the LCR
MotoGP Team, which saw ace MotoGP rider Casey Stoner
taking on the grid astride a very competitive HONDA
RC211V. This was also the first time GIVI Asia embarked on
an aggressive marketing program with the Sepang
International Circuit to promote motorsports in Malaysia. GIVI
also organized a special Motorcycle Convoy to the Sepang
Circuit on race-day in conjunction with this event.

GIVI yet again provided an excellent opportunity for its
customers to witness the excitement of the MotoGP. After the
successful MotoGP 2006 race in association with Sepang
International Circuit, GIVI again worked with TEAM LCR to
bring this international event to GIVI’s growing list of
customers. In 2007, more than 1,000 GIVI guests including
GIVI Asia’s distributors and dealers from Malaysian
gathered to witness Carlos Checa, the experienced and
very likeable Spanish rider take on the rest of the field in
GIVI gear. GIVI reaffirmed its full support for the two wheel
motorsports industry in Malaysia by organizing a
motorcycle convoy to the MotoGP event at the Sepang
International Circuit.
The 2007 MotoGP was even more exciting than the previous
year, thanks to the participation of the bikers from Singapore,
Philippines, Indonesia and Italy. As a general rule of thumb,
all the bikers who participated in the MotoGP convoy had to
equip their bikes with GIVI storage boxes. As predicted, the
MotoGP convoy once again turned out to be a success and
further strengthened GIVI’s brand awareness in the country.

MALAYSIAN MotoGP 2008To see 60,000 people converge in the Sepang International

October was a very special event for everyone at GIVI Asia.
It’s become an objective every year to subject GIVI as a
brand to as many people as possible within the MotoGP
event, however in 2008, GIVI really outdid themselves. GIVI
was un-missable to every single person who walked through
the main gates at the Sepang Circuit. From a business and
brand awareness perspective it really could not have been
better. To have the GIVI brand so prominent was undoubtedly
a great achievement, however, the visible excitement,
happiness and pleasure on all of the faces at the GIVI

was simply priceless.
Each individual smile, laugh or giggle expressed the
principles of our brand in a way that was beyond measure. As
stated during the Gala dinner, GIVI is not just a brand, it is a
family. These moments were thankfully captured by
GIVI photographers and, yes, if a picture paints a thousand
words, these pictures speak volumes. The emotions captured
and feelings immortalized in print can only come from the
heart. The priceless heart of GIVI… “because above all, it’s
about passion.”

kids with free balloons in various colors and shapes, skillfully
inflated into various shapes and forms. Even the bosses did
not miss the chance to play with the balloons! Lucky draw

Dr. MOTO, an integrated program on road safety for
motorcycle riders was launched in January 2009 at the
Sepang International Circuit. The inaugural season have 13
episodes which focused on motorcycling safety. You can
RIDE, TALK, READ, EAT, SLEEP and DREAM motorcycles,
but if you don’t ride safely you may not be riding for long. Dr.
MOTO, and all those involved are motorcyclists who are
concerned at the ever increasing motorcycle accident rate.
Thus the show imparted on motorcyclists to think of their
safety and those around them when riding. The message is
also targeted at general viewers who are not motorcyclists to

MALAYSIAN MotoGP 2009It had been three years since GIVI’s foray into MotoGP with
Sepang International Circuit, and 2009 was not going to be
any different. It was the perfect setting to create more
awareness for GIVI’s “One size does not fit all” campaign
from the ROMA Helmet Launch. The highlight of GIVI’s
involvement in the 2009 MotoGP GIVI was a specially
designed stage attendees of the MotoGP were allowed to
test for themselves this “One size does not fit all” concept
by trying on various helmets tofind the most suitable one
that fits. To further increase awareness of this, GIVI
conducted a special ‘media launch’ the night before the big
day. In addition, GIVI Asia invited the top 8 dealers from
Vietnam to attend the event. It was in part to introduce the
GIVI Brand across the Asia region, and also to build their
confidence in selling GIVI products in Vietnam. It was
a great opportunity given to them to meet other GIVI
personnel, a well as learn more about the products in probably
the best setting imaginable. A special counter for GIVI
sponsored TV show Dr. Moto was also set up at the
Welcome GIVI Bus, which gave lead-actor Nabil’s fans a rare
opportunity to meet their idol. Overall, GIVI’s presence at
MotoGP 2009 was again a great success - clearly displaying
the passion GIVI continues to exude to the fans and local
retailers; a clear indication that GIVI will continue to
extend its reach across the region, and beyond.

passing through Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia, to finally
end up at GIVI Vietnam, in the Long An Province. The valiant
riders travelled almost 4000km braving tropical storms,
switches from right to left-hand drive and a mix of
metropolitan traffic jams and erratic countryside traffic, all to
raise funds for New Hope for Cambodian Children (NHCC),an organization which provides holistic care to children
infected with HIV/AIDS. This is an amazing volunteer
program, heartily supported by the participating riders, and
GIVI was extremely proud to be directly sponsoring the NGO
