The Palmyra, a Solís Resort & Spa Introduces the Island Treat Dining Experience
Special Package Starts at $299 for a Limited Time
MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica, June 28, 2011 – The Palmyra, a Solís Resort & Spa has announced the
introduction of the Island Treat dining experience for guests. This new package includes all meals and
beverages served at the resort’s restaurants and bars, as well as afternoon Jamaican tea. Guests will also
be invited to a cooking demonstration and tasting where they will learn about local ingredients like
ackee and pimento, and receive the chef’s favourite recipes as a souvenir.
The Palmyra’s two restaurants serve gourmet fare with a Jamaican flare: The casual, al fresco Coco
Grove Seaside Grill and Bar is just steps from the beach serves lunch and at Eve's Table guests savor
breakfast and dinner in an open, clubhouse setting. At Jack's Bar guests can enjoy tropical treats and
refreshments or catch up on the latest sports.
Menu selections appeal to everyone’s taste, morning choices include mango‐carrot and ginger‐calaloo
juices, a healthy calaloo egg white scramble and coconut rum French toast with guava syrup, in addition
to traditional breakfast choices. Poolside lunches at the Coco Grove are light and flavorful. Jerk spiced
fish filet is paired with sweet papaya and pineapple, while a scotch bonnet tartar sauce brings an
addictive heat to beer‐battered local fish. For burger lovers, the chef prepares Kobe beef topped with
crisp bacon and melted cheddar.
Each afternoon Jamaican tea is an occasion filled with savory bites and Caribbean treats. Sweet potato
pudding tarts and tender christophene in chocho tarts balance the sweet coconut confections of
traditional gizadda and coconut drops. Dinner entrees include jerk chicken stuffed with plantain and
callaloo and short ribs braised in Red Stripe beer while the chef spikes chocolate sauce with Scotch
bonnet peppers for the Blue Mountain sundae.
Special introductory rates for the Island Treat package start at $299.00 per room, per night based on
double occupancy including tax for bookings by July 31, 2011 and travel by October 31, 2011. The
