Landscape planning and landscape management in cultural landscape, cultural heritage management

Topic: The city of Visegrád is situated north of Budapest on the right bank of the Danube in the landscape called “Danube Bend”. The region of Visegrád as part of the National Park Duna-Ipoly is a wonderful mosaic like landscape with scenic views. The Pilis Forestry maintains a “park-forest” landscape with a scenic network of clearings. Visegrád is rich in cultural heritage: we can find ruins from the Roman Empire, but Visegrád is first of all famous for the remains of the Early Renaissance summer palace of King Matthias Corvinus of Hungary and the medieval citadel. Visegrád became in the 19th century a popular tourist resort with the first built scenic walking pass and panorama road in Hungary. The specific design of the world-famous Hungarian architecture Imre Makovecz makes the park forest more interesting.
