OurAssociationisorganisingsitevisitstotheworksundertwodrainageservicesprojects,namelyLaiChiKokDrainageTunnelandHarbourAreaTreatmentScheme(HATS)Stage2A,tohelpourmembersunderstandsomeoftheachievementsoftheDrainageServicesDepartmentsmegaprojects:TheLaiChiKokDrainageTunnelprojectaimstosolvetheproblemofhugeflowscomingfromNorthwestKowloonmidleveltothehabourviathecoastalurbanareas
intheLaiChi Kok, Cheung Sha Wan and Sham Shui Po area. This project
has received
manyprofessionalawardsandtheworkshavebeencompleted.TheHATS
Stage2Aproject covers the constructionof the sewage conveyance
systemcomprisinganetworkofinterconnectedsewagetunnelsandverticalshaftsforcollectingsewage
from the preliminary treatment works in Hong Kong Island, and aims
atimprovingthewaterqualityofVictoriaHarbour.
