SPEAKER  PROFILES  

AbdelKader  Alaoui    

Phd  scholar  Durham  University  (UK)      Abdel-­‐Kader   el  ALAOUI   is   finishing  his  Phd  at   INCEIF   (Kuala  Lumpur).  He  holds   a  Master  degree   from  ESSEC  Business  School  (Paris)  and  a  Master  in  Islamic  Banking  and  Finance  from  INCEIF. He  has  worked  for  a  variety  of  international  corporations  in  different  disciplines.  He  also  has  an  extensive  experience  as  consultant  in  France.    He  has  published  and  presented  in  several  international  conferences  in  Islamic  Banking  and  Finance  (Cambridge,  Oxford,  Durham,  Dublin,  Kyoto,  Kuala  Lumpur,  etc...).  His   research  interests  are  encompassing  a  range  of  issues  including   capital   market,   monetary   policy,   cooperative   finance,   Islamic   development.   He   is   reviewer   for   two  international  journals  specialized  in  Islamic  Finance.  

 

Dr  Sami  Ibrahim  Al-­‐Suwailem    Senior  Economist    Islamic  Development  Bank  Group    Dr.  Sami  Ibrahim  Suwailem  is  from  Saudi  Arabia  and  a  prominent  expert  in  the  field  of  Islamic  Finance,  a  senior  economist,  Islamic  researcher  and  author  of  several  speaclised  books  related  to  finance  which  are  considered  an  authority  in  it's  field.    Dr  Sami  is  a  lecturer  with  KIU  teaching  the  module  "The  Fiqh  of  Finance".    • DOB:  1965          • MA  Economics,  Southern  Illinois  University,  Carbondale,  Illinois.  1990  • Ph.D.  in  Economics,  Washington  University,  St.  Louis,  Missouri.  1995  • Chief  Consultant,  and  subsequently  R&D  Manager,  Al  Rjahi  Bank,  1995-­‐2004.  • Deputy  Director,  Islamic  Research  and  Training  Institute,  2007-­‐2009.  • Manager,  Islamic  Financial  Product  Development  Center,  2010-­‐-­‐  • Published  several  papers  on  Islamic  economics  and  finance.

Fayçal  Amrani    

Phd  student  Paris  Dauphine  University        Fayçal  AMRANI  is  at   the  last  stage  of  his  Phd  at  Paris  Dauphine  University.  He  holds  his  Masters   in  Economics  and  Finance  from  Dauphine  –  Paris.  He  coordinated  research  seminar  on  finance  within  the  research  laboratory  “Financial  Strategies  and  Dynamics”  “SDFi”.    He  authored  and  presented  many  papers  in  Islamic  economics  and  finance   in   and   outside   France   alongside   with   his   commitment   with   Dauphine   University   as   assistant   lecturer  including   Macroeconomics.   His   latest   area   of   interest   is   the   Risk   Sharing   in   Islamic   Finance   based   on   a   new  theoretical  approach.
