NOUNS AND DIRECT OBJECTSNOUN
The part of speech that is used to name a person, place, thing, quality, or action and can function as the subject or
object of a verb, the object of a preposition, or an appositive.
Ex: woman, water, New York, talking, beauty, etc.
DIRECT OBJECTA direct object is a noun or pronoun that receives the action of a verb in a sentence. It answers the questions
what? or who? about the verb.

• Give examples of words with ow- sound.
• Day 4 • The students will team up in groups of 4 students. Each
group will read chapter #8 and # 9. Next, they will get 3 questions from each chapter so they can ask the rest of the groups. At the end of each round, every group will say which group the best answers.
• Day 5 • Listening activity• The students will listen to a conversation and get a piece
of paper where they will answer some questions about it.

From August 8th to 12th
DAY 1
1. The teacher will get some cards with nouns on one side, and on the back it will say “subject” or “direct object”. These cards will be put in a plastic bag so the students can pick one of them and make a sentence with the noun as a subject or direct object.
2. The teacher will show some pictures to depict the vocabulary so the kids can say the definitions with their own words.
3. Connect book pages: 232, 236, 241, 246, 247
Day 2
The kids will team up to make a conversation in which they will include words from the vocabulary list. The kids will work on pages 265-268 Connect book to put into practice what they learnt about “direct objects” and the vocabulary.
Day 3
PhonicsThey will practice on ow- sound.

As they watch the video, they will be asked for examples of words with ow- sound. They will work on page 233, 234, 263 in Connect book.
