A distinguishing characteristic of mural painting is that the architectural elements of the given space are harmoniously incorporated into the picture.

types of mural paintingsSince those days of murals made with crushed colourful minerals, murals have only increased in complexity.

types of materials used for murals

Painted MuralsThe face of the

wall is painted on the basis of pre-conceptualized

design. The murals can be made

directly on a wall of the property or on the ceiling in a very artistic

manner.

Tile MuralsThe design is

first painted on the tiles and then fixed on walls. Tile murals can make a dull space look appealing and eye-catching.

Ceramic MuralsThese are made of mirrors, tiles,

mosaic and ceramic pieces. These murals are

commonly found to be long and inspired by beautiful canvasses.

JR is known for stirring things up by incorporating images with messages that are sometimes vague in nature

Apart from the previously mentioned

ones, there are traversing wall and climbing wall murals

too.

historical background: Berlin, Germany

Berlin became a major world city, known for its leadership roles in science, the humanities, music, museums, higher education, government, diplomacy and military affairs.

During World War II, it was virtually destroyed by bombing, artillery, and ferocious street-by-street fighting.

historical background: Berlin, Germany

After World War II, the city was divided; East Berlin became the capital of East Germany while West Berlin became a de facto West German exclave, surrounded by the Berlin Wall (1961–1989) and East Germany territory.

With the reunification of Germany in 1990, Berlin was restored as a capital and as a major world city.
