The words Father and mother in spoken language

• In literary language, the words for Father and mother are падар модар. However, in spoken language, depending on the area, various other words are also used. For example. instead of падар, the following are also used: дада, додо( in the northern and some central dialect) and ота and ата ( in southern dialect); similarly for модар: бува, она and ая are used in the north and оча in the south.

• To show their difference in age, brothers and sisters are also use different words in their spoken language. So , aко, and aкa are used to refer to an older brother. Додар,уко and ука for a younger brother, апа for an older sister and хохар and in the northern dialect ука for a younger sister.
