If You Give a Kid a Clicker…..
If you give a kid a clicker……
He’s going to respond to the teacher’s question……..
Then he’s going to be able to compare his answers with others.
He is going to be engaged in the rest of the lesson, answering more
questions…
He will be asked a confidence question
And he’s going to says that he’s sure he “gets it!”
Maybe he’s going to be asked his opinion of the book he’s reading….
And he will instantly see that the class agrees that is book is pretty awesome!
And he will pick out his next novel by looking at his classmates’ responses about their books.
The next day he will be able to anonymously tell his teacher that he hasn’t started studying for the big
test….
But plans on doing it tomorrow.
The class will have a team competition to review for the test.
And every student will be engaged and motivated.
He will know exactly what he needs to study that night
Because those are the ones he got wrong…..
Finally the day will come…..
And he will be able to take the big test on his clicker and immediately see his score.
And chances are
If he gets his report card
He’s going to want to use the clickers in class, again and again and again!
