The Mandate• Started operations in 1961• Its mandate is clearly stated in IRRI’s

objectives listed in its articles of incorporation and by-laws“To establish, maintain and operate an information center and library, which will provide, … for interested scientists and scholars everywhere, a collection of the world’s literature on rice.”

The Clients• Walk-in clients – IRRI staff, students and faculty

from UP and other universities, researchers from other organizations, the public

• Remote clients – Scientists from more than 40 countries all over the world are the recipients of our services

Everyone is welcome to use our facilities as long as space permits

Resources- Rice Literature

We have the world’s most comprehensive collection of

technical rice literaturetechnical rice literature,

both published and unpublished, and written in more than 80 languages

by scientists worldwide.
