KHALID BIN WAALEED Hazrat Khalid bin Waleed (R.A) was born in a highly respected family of Banu Makhzum of the tribe of Qureysh in Makkah in nearly 585 A.D. His folks were one of the three primary people of its clan and were also in charge of the matters relating to battles. That is why he (R.A) grew up as having finest skills and abilities of warfare and later became earned the recognition of being one of the best commanders known in history. KHALID BIN WAALEED

Hazrat Khalid bin Waleed (R.A) was born in a highly respected family of Banu Makhzum of the tribe of Qureysh

in Makkah in nearly 585 A.D. His folks were one of the three primary people of its clan and were also in charge of the

matters relating to battles. That is why he (R.A) grew up as having finest skills and abilities of warfare and later

became earned the recognition of being one of the best commanders known in history. His father, Waleed bin

Mughira was famous poet and was amongst the richest men in Makkah. He (R.A) was cousin of Hazrat Umar (R.A),

the second righteous Caliph of Islam and both shared similar physical appearance.

WHO IS KHALID BIN WALEED?

Khalid ibn Walid R.A (592-642) also known as Sword of Allah (Saifullah). He is noted for his military prowess, commanding the forces of Prophet Muhammad SAWW and those of his immediate successors of the Rashidun Caliphate; Caliph Abu Bakr R.A and Caliph Umar R.A during the Islamic conquest in 7th century.

2nd INTRODUCTION Khalid bin Waleed (R.A.) was born in Makkah to

Waleed Bin Mughira, chief of Banu Makhzum, a clan of the Arab tribe of Quraysh. Banu Makhzum was one of the three leading clans of the Quraysh and were responsible for matters of war. It is no wonder then that the upbringing of a child from Banu Makhzoom was done under special conditions. Soon after birth, the child is sent to live with the Bedouins in the desert, away from pollution and corruption. By the age of five or six, they return to their parents.

SWORD OF KHALID BIN WALEED

Khalid-bin-Waleed (may Allah be pleased with him), the companion of Rasulullah (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) and the greatest Muslim general to have lived is buried along with his son in a corner of this mosque in Homs which has now been partially destroyed in the ongoing war in Syria. Khalid’s tombstone depicts a list of over 50 victorious battles that he commanded without defeat (not including small battles). A sword of his was also on display as well as a shield that was displayed outside.

BANU MAKHZUM (borning place of k.b.w)

Banū Makhzūm (Arabic: مخزوم was (بنوone of the wealthy clans of Quraysh, the Arab tribe of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. They are regarded as one of three most powerful and influential Tribes in Mecca before the advent of Islam, the other two being Banu Hashim and Banu Umayya[1][2][3] Members of this clan still live in present-day Saudi Arabia and Syria.

SAIFULLAH SAIFULLAH means the SWORD OF ALLAH.

This name was given to KHALID-BIN-WALEED by HOLY PROPHET S.A.W.W because he was the great soldier of ISLAM and he have fought 100 battles for ISLAM.
