Ana Rosa GonzlezT.1-M.5: WEB TOOLTASK 1CREATE A TASK USING A WEB TOOL. In this task we want you to create a mini task for your unit plan using one web tool. The following chart would be helpful for you to do it. TITLE OF THE TASK: CLASS DOJO, A WAY TO ENGANGE STUDENTS

AIM OF THE TASK:- Increase students motivation- Consciousness about their own learning process- Engage families in their children education- Create a community environment

DESCRIPTION OF THE TASK: The task I am thinking about, it would be done as a routine in class. It can be used, not only during my unit plan but also during the whole year, in every subject they do. The web tool I would use it is called Class dojo and it is a tool for the classroom management. It allows students to be more aware of their learning, how they are doing and reflect about their learning progress. Also, it is a good tool to involved parents in their childrens education, because parents can follow all the information that appears in the web in their home. As a result, parents would be more aware if their kids are behaving well, if they are participating, if they are doing their homework, if they get into a fight. Everything can be seen there. Also parents can add comments for motivate their children, if they want. Also, students can make their own contributions, making photos to their work and sharing them later with families, or classmates. They can also make a self-evaluation regarding to their progress.It is a free web tool, and also it is very easy to use it as a teacher, as a parent and as a student. Here I add some pictures and information about what you can do with it:

Here there is the list of your students (I have made this one as an example, they are not real students).

When you click on one of your students name, you can add a positive or negative feedback. There are some that are already done, as the ones that you can see in the picture, but you can also create your own ones in edit skills. You can decide how many point they will get (1,2,3,4) or how many points you want to take them out for bad attitudes.

As a teacher, you can see the progress of your students and also you can add photos or comments. Parents can see these photos and the comments, and if they want, they can answer to them.

As a teacher you can send messages to all the parents, or keep private conversations.

Here there is an example of a summary of the day. As I have made that class, it is not real, but with this application you can see the bad and good attitudes, in a day, week, month or whatever you want. With this tool you can make your students aware of their learning and you can make reflect them about how they are doing, what needs to improve and what things they done really well.

Last but not least, class dojo offers other resources to keep in mind because they are really interesting.
