DINNERA typical British meal for dinner is meat and “two veg”. They put hot brown gravy, (tradi-tionally made from the juices of the roast meat), on the meat and usually the vegeta-bles. One of the vegetables is almost always potatoes.

A recent survey found that most people in Britain eat curry!
Rice or pasta are now favored as the ‘British Dinner’.
English Desserts & drinkA pudding is the dessert course of a meal (‘pud’ is used informally). In Britain, they also use the words ‘dessert’ , ‘sweet’ and ‘afters’.
