Biography• He was born in Figueres on 11th May 1904. He went to study in Madrid at the University :”las bellas arts” on 1920. He received

his first award in 1922. His friend were: Luis Buñuel, Federico García Lorca, Pedro Garfias, Eugenio Montes i

Pepín Bello… In 1925, he spent his holidays with Federico García Lorca. He visited Paris for first

time in 1926, there he met Pablo Picasso. In 1927 his paintings show the first surrealists influences. Then, in 1929 he met Gala.

He did two films with Bruñel, an important spanish director , the films were : Un chien andalou and L’âge d’or.

Later, he took part in the screenplay of a Hollywood director, called: Giraffes on Horseback Salad , he worked with Harpo.

Then in 1945 worked with Alfred Hitchcock in Spellbound . He married with Gala in 1934. In 1964 Dalí was awarded with “la gran creu” from Isabel la catolica. Then in 1969 he

bought “ el Castell de pubol”. Finally he died on the 23rd January in : “ la Torre Galatea”.
