Moxibustion


History of Moxibustion

Moxibustion (Chinese: 灸; pinyin: jiǔ) is a traditional

Chinese medicine therapy

using moxa, or mugwort

herb.

Moxibustion plays an important role in

the traditional medical systems of

China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Tibet,

and Mongolia.


Using Moxibustion

There are two types of using Moxa:

(ii) Indirect Moxa

Something is placed between the burning Moxa

and the skin: slices of Ginger, Garlic, Salt,

Using Moxibustion

The Moxa Stick is lit at one end and held about 1

inch from the skin, and burned for up to 15 minutes

or until the skin around the area is bright red.

Onnetsu therapy is a marriage between an

ancient theory of healing (moxibustion) and the

scientific technology of far infrared therapy.

Traditional theory states that degenerated,

diseased or inactive cells or tissues are lacking
