Current Problems• Organic light emitting diodes are used

in cellphone, batteries, photovoltaic technologies, and other organic electronics– Transistors are crucial to these devices.

• Currently, thin film transistors are used for display technology.– There is a growing sub-segment that

consists of organic thin film transistors

• Novel method for production of charge mobility layer in organic thin film transistors– Utilize solution to improve the growth of TIPS pentacene

films– Employs thermal gradient to promote proper crystal

growth• Allows for air stability, easy to process, and good

charger carrier mobility• Mobility measurements conducted on films show order

of magnitude improvement of the mobility, 0.05 cm2/V s when compared to 0.004 cm2/V s for non-annealed films.
