I love Muhammad صلى ال عليه وسلمHe is as his name is! The Praiseworthy! The Most Praised One!
By Muqith Mujtaba Ali
Loving the Prophet must be a part of our Islamic life as Allah commands His Messenger to declare to the world:
قل إن كنتم تحبون ال فاتبعوني يحببكم ال ويغفر لكم ذنوبكموال غفور رحيم
“Say (O Muhammad to all Muslims!)
If you do love Allah, Follow Me! Allah will love you and forgive you your sins, for Allah is oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful” (3: 31)
No man has ever been loved throughout history as he is loved and revered by billions of people right from his time down to this day and ever shall he be loved as long as the world is in existence!
He is the most remembered person on earth!
Ten Times each day from each mosque his name is being called out through Azaan from thousands of minarets of the world.
Millions of his followers send peace and blessings upon him day in and day out.
He was the simplest man on earth!
He never ordered people to stand when he entered a room or reached a place. Yet he was given more than a hero’s welcome wherever he went!
He never liked to sit with legs stretched when people were around.
He never allowed anyone to lift his stature to the level of worship!
He condemned hero worship. He condemned people making graves and illuminating it with lights.
In spite of the fact that his followers were ever ready to do anything if he commanded them to do so, he did not possess even an iota of ego in him.
He was the humblest Prophet of Allah!
“10 years”, said his servant, “ I was with the Prophet, and he never said as much as ‘fie to me’!
The English language proverb ‘No man is hero to his valet’ miserably fails when it comes our glorious Prophet صلى ال عليه وسلم
For, Muhammad صلى ال عليه!is indeed the hero to his valet وسلم
The closer a person was with the Prophet, the more attracted was he towards him. Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “The Prophet صلى ال عليه وسلم was benevolent, lavishly generous and exceedingly kind-hearted. It was a pleasure to have his company. Whoever met him for the first time was filled with awe but with closer contact became attached to him”. (Tirmidhi)
Despotism and arrogance of power and knowledge were unknown to him!
He was kind to all people. When he got his birth place back, not as a citizen, but as a domineering conqueror and leader, he didn’t take revenge on anyone.
Among the conquered were those wild beast that used to torture him for ten long years; abuse him, mock at him, insult him, make fun of him, call him mad and crazy, persecute and punish his followers for accepting him as the Prophet of Allah. All those beasts in human garb were standing before him with heads down!As a conqueror, he did not throw even a pebble on such wild attackers! He forgave them all. Subhanallah!
Such was our Prophet,نبي كريم صلى ال عليه وسلم
True to his name. The Praiseworthy!
Being full of gratitude, he was the most humblest and the most greatest worshiper عابدHe used to be in prostration for such long time that his foot used to get swollen and when he was asked the reason why he did like that he replied, “Should I not be a grateful servant of Allah?”
We need to adopt these humane qualities in us. The qualities of humbleness, simplicity, kindness, benevolence, gratitude and forgiving nature. Only then we will be considered to be true followers of this greatest man!
These qualities will develop in us only when we do love Allah intensely. Allah Himself says:
والذين آمنوا أشد حبا ل
“Those who believe are intense in their love for Allah” (2: 165)
Following the glorious Prophet Muhammad صلى ال عليه وسلم in letter and spirit is an expression of our intense love for Allah.
May Allah instil in us the love of our Prophet صلى ال عليه وسلم in the true sense of the term.Aameen
