Andrew Atroshenko (Russian, 1965) Enchantress

In the United States Andrew came across the work of Pino Daeni and Spanish painter Royo at the Artexpo in New York in 2000, and he realised what direction he wanted to take his art into.  His lush oils show the influence of these two artists and have a feeling redolent of the 1950’s. He married fellow student Maria in 1992 and together they have a daughter – Alexandra.  Like many artists, Andrew has a number of artistic references and influences, but it is his wife and daughter who are his inspiration. He sells successfully across the States and Europe and had two paintings auctioned by Sotheby’s in 2002 and 2003.
