The additional class notation VeriSTAR-HULL may be completed by DFL xx years, with xx having values between 25 and 40, when a fatigue assessment has been carried out on selected structural details showing that their evaluateddesign fatigue life is not less than xx years.
STAR-HULL
STAR-HULL is assigned to ships for which, in addition to the requirements for assignment of the additional class notation VeriSTAR-HULL, an Inspection and Maintenance Plan for the hull is implemented by the Owner.
STAR-MACH
STAR-MACH is assigned to ships on which a Planned Maintenance Survey System for machinery (PMS) is implemented as per the requirements. In addition, the notation STAR-MACH includes a risk analysis review of the ship’s machinery and other equipment (navigation instrumentation, anchoring and mooring arrangements…).
STAR
When ships are assigned the notations STAR-HULL andSTAR-MACH, the two separate notations are superseded bythe cumulative additional class notation STAR.

Integrated bridge system (SYS-IBS)SYS-IBS is assigned to ships which are fitted with an integrated bridge system which allows simplified and centralised bridge operation of all main functions of navigation manoeuvring and communication, as well as monitoring from bridge of other functions related to specific cargoes and pollution; for passenger ships, heating, ventilation and air conditioning are also included in the monitored functions.
SYS-COM Communication system (SYS-COM)
SYS-COM is assigned to ships which are fitted with a local area network including the alarm, monitoring and control systems and computers used for management operations and external communication devices for reporting ashore navigation, maintenance and operational information.The notation SYS-COM is assigned only to ships which arealso assigned the additional class notation AUT-IMS.
