Document Control Procedure
Document Control Procedure is a procedure which defines the necessary steps and requirements for the control of thedocuments.
Document control procedure must define :
How you approve documents (e.g. procedures, flowcharts, process maps, etc.) prior to use (Example:signedoff paper versions, or added to your computer network via a password protected system)How you update and reapprove amended documents (Computer based systems are so much easier tomaintain)How you identify changes (Example : by date or issue number, identify changes with different fonts orcolours)How you ensure that documents are available where they are neededHow you control documents of external originHow you prevent the inadvertent use obsolete documents (Obsoletebutstillinuse is the single mostcommon noncompliance)
