Native Americans - American Indians - The First People of America; History of Native American Tribes

Radical cultures of Northern America are extremely various and not similar one to

another. If you think, that all radical Americans carried headdresses from

feathers, lived in wigwams and hunted on bison, in intervals being at war with white

colonists it is very far from true.

People of Great Lakes - representatives of Wood culture

Tribes of an ethnic group Irokez in region had the traditions similar to traditions of people, entered in League Irokez with matriarchy, the long houses strengthened by settlements and an emphasis on an agriculture and corn.

The social device of their society was patriarchy. Children inherited a clan of the father, and the right to the hunting grounds was transferred from the father to the son. Tribes, as a rule, had a weak central organization, they shared on the groups had own names, own hunting territories and independent enough to carry out a separate "external" policy. General meetings of tribes happened very seldom and only for the extremely serious political or religious reasons.

Valley Indians

Central valley Northern America, to the east from Rocky mountains, became the native land of flat Indians; here the hunting grounds of

twelve "typical" tribes coincided with pastures of the greatest herds of bison. All these tribes possessed the common features: a heavy

use tipi, bison and horses; division of soldiers into societies; and the religious ceremony, named Dance of the Sun.

Valley Indians

Inspired by prestige of the elders, young men certainly

aspired to follow on a track of the leader which ran initially

through purchase of the status necessary for leadership by military groups. The good

soldier could achieve advantages on advice, and when

he spoke, and that, how many the attention was given his

words.

Valley IndiansHarmony between separate hunting bands and a tribe as a whole was supported by "leaders". The tribe was considered as one big family, the camp circle symbolized family tipi, and in its chapter there were leaders. Though the structure of authority of a tribe was complex, most the general division was division into military and peace leaders. Peace leaders were usually elderly, senior people caring a daily life of a tribe; whereas military leaders - officers of military societies - have been actively involved in military affairs. Duties of authority also extended on groups of dear elders and shaman - and those and others in their own area, for example, at the instruction of a direction of search of bison, or in a role of the conventional leaders.

There were many buffaloes. These animals gave them meat and skins. Out of skins they mad clothes and cover houses – the wigwams.

In America live modern people. They look how Mongols: rigid straight hair, dry eyes, cheek-born. Learned known 2 big races: north American and center sought American.

Native Americans Who Received the Nations Highest Honour – The Congressional Medal of Honour

There is one day in a year when all Americans stay at home with their families and eat a big

dinner. They prepared a dinner of turkey, corn, beans and pumpkins. It is Thanksgiving Day

that is celebrated in the fall.
