Purpose of Ac,vity: This ac(vity is a great way to focus children’s a7en(on on how many of basic sight words help us read words that end just like them (analogies). For example: If I can read the word “can”, I can read many other words that are similar – fan, man, ran, van, etc. Knowing this and being able to detect words that are like words we know helps us read even more words! This is a great ac,vity for small group instruc,on or for literacy centers. Direc,ons for Play: Read all the mouse cards and spread them out. Stack heart cards either face down or face up. Player chooses a heart card and reads the word. Then the player places the heart card with the correct mouse card.
