NANOTEC, as an observer, participate in The OECD Working Party of Manufactured Nanomaterials (WPMN) meeting. Thailand flag flying in this international meeting since we try to promote the linkage of Nanosafety and Ethics at the National and international levels.Dr. Rawiwan Maniratanachote, Head of Safety and Risk Assessment Lab as of the Ad hoc expert for the Swiss lead project “Applicability of the TG 442D in vitro skin sensitisation for nanomaterials.

As a result of our active role in this working group, NANOTEC in collaboration with NIMT to organize the Workshop on “High Quality Measurement for Advanced Manufacturing” and Meeting for “Inter-Laboratory Comparison” on 24-25 September 2018 in Thailand.

NANOTEC is nominated to be the coordinator of this WG since we play the vital role in many activities related to nanosafety. On 12 December 2018, NANOTEC in collaboration with ANF will host the Nanosafety Technical Forum during NanoThailand2018 in Thailand. ANF kindly support the travel allowance for 2,250 USD. In March 2019, NANOTEC will host the 3rd EU-Asia Dialogue on Nanosafety in ASEAN Next 2019.

ANF Working Groups: Education, Infrastructure, Commercialization, NanoSafety and Risk Management and Standardization

The OECD WPMN was established in September 2006 as a subsidiary body of the OECD Chemicals Committee. This programme concentrates on human health and environmental safety implications of manufactured nanomaterials (limited mainly to the chemicals sector), and aims to ensure that the approach to hazard, exposure and risk assessment is of a high, science-based, and internationally harmonised standard. This programme promotes international co-operation on the human health and environmental safety of manufactured nanomaterials, and involves the safety testing and risk assessment of manufactured nanomaterials.
