You will read the book at home…

… and work with the tasks (uppgifterna) in school

You will work with translations (översättningar) both in school and at home

In order to do that, we will look at HOW you can translate words and phrases

If you have a computer at home you can use programs like Google Translate, but you have to think about some things when you do that.

Lets take a word like: “You can’t bring anything that is bulky or heavy, fragile or perishable.”

Maybe you don’t know that word in Swedish either?

Then you’ll have to look it up in a Swedish dictionary, for instance Wiktionary

Or in SAOB (Svenska Akademiens Ordbok)

But you can often get multiple (flera) translations in Google translate if you klick on the Swedish word.

In school you can use the English-Swedish dictionarys. They look a bit shabby, but they are really good inside

And we can work together with them, which is fun!

The sign ~ means that it’s the same word again. Here it means perishable goods for example.
