Spaniards came, it was already around and well loved by Filipinos, mostly men and young boys.

Carlos Bulosan, the writer of “My Father’s Tragedy” is the first important literary voice for Filipinos in the United States. Bulosan

came to the U. S in the early 1930s. He eventually became a labor activist and tried to address racial and economic discri-

mination in the United States.
