Why do what we are doing?
• Environmental Policies & Procedures
• ISO / BS8555 Standard
• Tender Applications
• Monitor and try to reduce our utility and fuel consumption
• In line with environmental sustainability procedures

How will we do it?
• Collect the Data • Compile the Data into 1 format • Analyze and Report on findings.• Inform vehicle users on how to efficiently drive
the vehicles• Update all staff on cheapest places to buy fuel.
What will we measure
• We collected– Price for fuel– Mileage– Quantity of Fuel
• We worked out– Cost per litre (by diving quantity by price)
• We considered using miles per litre but decided not to because of the variation on journey distance would effect the findings.

Cost Savings
• From the graph it can be seen that the difference in most expensive and cheapest fuel costs has been brought down from a difference of £0.10 to £0.04, which is a percentage saving of 60%.*
• This equals £40.52** monthly saving in December
• If we can maintain this every month we can calculate a £486.19 annual saving for the company***. *Difference in May = £0.10. Difference in Dec = £0.04. over all percentage saving = 60% calculate using the formula below:
=(0.10-0.04)/0.10 = 60%
**Difference in Dec = 0.01 * Amount Paid = £920.95. Overall calculated using formula: =0.04*920.95 = £40.52
***Dec savings = 40.52. Annual prediction calculated using formula: =40.52*12

Results in Summary
• Overall consumption is quite similar each month in terms of fuel.
• Things that affect results: – Vehicle is off the road for repair– Employee is on leave etc. – Distance travelled for jobs each month
• Things to look at going forward:– Informing people of the cheapest places to buy fuel– Teaching people how to drive in a more economical
manner
