Po Che Keng Shrine was built by the villagers of Pai Gel with strong faith that it will be the residing place for the spirit of Pra Po Seang Tai Tae or Tai Tay Eia Joh. According to legend, Po Seang Tai Tae was born in the Ngor family. His first name was Poon or Hua Ji in Chinese. An intelligent child, he began studying herbal medicine at a young age with Sai Ong Moo and later, took up lessons in the art of exorcism. After acquiring countless valuable lessons, he came back and dedicated his life helping the poor and teaching herbal medicine to people. Po Che Keng Shrine is located on Samantha Pradit Road showcasing features of classic shrine architectures like dragon designs on the roof. This shrine also holds the Vegetarian Festival annually.

เปนวดราษฎร มพระพทธรปศกดสทธคบานคเมอง คอ พระพทธรปหลวงพอแก เปนพระพทธรปทรงเครองปางหามญาตแกะสลกจากไม ฝมอชางลานนา ขนาดสง 75 เซนตเมตร คลายพระแกนจนทร ซงมพระพกตรเหมอนผหญง แบบพระสมเดจนางพญา สนนษฐานวาเปนพระพทธรปประจำาเรอสำาเภาจนบรรทกสนคาซงเดนทางขามทะเล กลาวกนวาในป พ.ศ. 2456-2479 พระพทธรปหลวงพอแกไดลอยนำามาและมผนำาไปถวายพระอธการปลอดซงเปนเจาอาวาสวด มความเชอวา หลวงพอแก ไดแสดงอภนหารความศกดสทธชวยใหพนจากโชคราย และใหประสบโชคลาภมสวสดมงคลสดแตจะปรารถนาไดตามทตองการ

Originally called Baan Chine Temple, Dunlayaram Temple houses the city’s important Buddhastatue called “Luang Por Gae”.The seventy five centimetertall statue is in standing position with one palm up and is carved from wood by Lanna artisans. It has feminine facial features like that of Prah Ganchan who also has the same facial style as Somdet Nang Prahya. According to legend, the Buddha statue was a fixture aboard a Chinese merchant’s ship that sailed across the ocean. It was said that in the years 1912-1935, the statue was found floating in the ocean and was later brought to Phra Plod, the abbot of the temple at that time. This sacred statue is believed to chase away bad omen while bringing good fortune and happiness to those who come to pray.

Originally called Mambang Temple when it was built in 1882, Chanatip Chaloem Temple is, in fact, the first temple of Satun. In 1939, its name was then changed to Chanatip Chaloem which still remains until today. While most of Satun’s citizens are Muslim, this temple has become a place of solace for Buddhists living in the province for over a hundred years. The main hall has two levels; the lower made of brick and cement, and the upper level made of wood. At the front of the hall is a balcony with stairs on either side. Originally, it was a single story building but the upper level was later added in 1930for carrying out monks’ ceremonies while the lower floor is an all purpose hall. Today, it has undergone renovation but much of the original work is kept including the main hall and carved window frames. Chanatip Chaloem Temple is officially anenvironmentally protected area with municipal school next to the temple surrounded by 3 canals which are MambangCanal, Sen Ten Canal and Ta Yai Canal.

ถอเปนวดแหงแรกของเมองสตล สรางเมอ พ.ศ. 2425 ตอมาเปลยนชอเปน “วดชนาธปเฉลม” เมอ พ.ศ. 2482 ขณะทชาวเมองสตลสวนใหญนบถอศาสนาอสลาม วดแหงนจงถอเปนทรวมนำาใจของชาวพทธในเมองสตลมารวม 100 กวาปมาแลว อโบสถทมลกษณะเปนทรง 2 ชน ชนลางกออฐถอปน สวนชนบนเปนอาคารไม ดานหนาพระอโบสถเปนระเบยง มบนไดทง 2 ดาน ปพ.ศ. 2473 สรางพระอโบสถ ชนบนสำาหรบประกอบพธกรรมของพระสงฆ สวนชนลางใชเปนศาลาการเปรยญ ปจจบนไดบรณปฏสงขรณแลว สภาพเดมทยงคงเหลออย คอ โครงสรางของพระอโบสถ และเสาบานหนาตางซงแกะสลกรปเครอเถา วดชนาธปเฉลมเปนวดทไดรบการประกาศเปนเขตอนรกษสงแวดลอม ปจจบนม โรงเรยนเทศบาล 2 (วดชนาธปเฉลม) อยตดกบวด ลอมรอบดวยคลองจำานวน 3 สาย คอ คลองมำาบง คลองเสนเตน และคลองตายาย

Commonly called “Wat Pa-Cha Thai” (Thai Cemetery Temple), Satun Santayaram Temple was built in 1954 on a piece of land belonging to Satun’s Crematory although its construction was approved on September 5th, 1961. Later, The Ministry of Education officially an-nounced it as a temple on January 30th, 1966. Also, it was chosen as the prototype for ideally developed temple by the Ministry of Religion. On March 14, 1967, the land with area covering 40 x 80 meters, was declared as a Buddhist religion zone. Prah Maha Perm was the abbot since the beginning when it began as just lodging for monks. In 1956, Prakru Buntitanuvat took over the position and commis-sioned the building of the main hall, monks’ lodging and Other facilities. Today, the abbot position is taken up by Prakru Wimolthammarungsri.

“วดปาชาไทย” เรมสรางเมอ พ.ศ. 2497 ในทดนของสมาคมฌาปนกจสตล และไดรบอนญาตใหสรางวดเมอ วนท 5 กนยายน พ.ศ. 2504 กระทรวงศกษาธการประกาศตงเปนวดเมอ วนท 30 มกราคม พ.ศ. 2509 ทางวดไดรบเลอกเปนวดพฒนาตวอยางจากกรมการศาสนา ไดรบพระราชทานวสงคามสมา เมอวนท 14 มนาคม พ.ศ. 2510 เขตวสงคามสมากวาง 40 เมตร ยาว 80 เมตร เจาอาวาสผปกครองวด ตงแตเรมสรางวดเปนตนมาคอ พระมหาเพม ปกครองวดขณะท ยงเปนทพกสงฆอย ตอมา พ.ศ. 2499 พระครบณฑตานวตร ไดปกครองวดสบตอมา และไดพฒนาวดสรางถาวรวตถหลายอยางใหแกวด เชน อโบสถ ศาลาการเปรยญ กฎสงฆ นำาความเจรญมาสวดเปนอยางมาก ปจจบนมพระครวมลธรรมรส เจาคณะตำาบลพมาน และเปนเจาอาวาสปกครองวด

Arthorn Rangsarit Temple is the residing place of Prah Kru Arthorn Khantikul (Luang Pu Kong), layman name- Kong Kaewmuan, who came to this temple on 18 May, 1947. At the time, it was a deserted temple but Luang Pu Kong decided to stay and help restore it back to its former glory with the help of villagers. He passed away on 25 December, 1977 due to lung disease, to much sadness of the villagers who respected him dearly. It is believed that those who have faith in him will be safe from harm during travels and they would often bring southern traditional dessert, black coffee, a cigarette and Southern shadow puppetsas offerings to his shrine.

ของพระครอาทรขนตคณ (หลวงปคง) นามเดม คง แกวเหมอน ซงเดนทางมายงวดอาทรรงสฤษฏ อ.ละง เมอ 18 พฤษภาคม พ.ศ.2490 สมยนนเปนวดราง หลวงปคงตดสนใจอยรวมกบชาว อ.ละง เพอพฒนาวดอาทรรงสฤษฏ ใหเปนมรดกทางสงคมแกลกหลานชาว อ.ละง สบไป หลวงปคง มรณภาพ เมอ วนท 25 ธนวาคม พ.ศ. 2520 ดวยโรคปอดไมทำางาน ในงานศพหลวงปคง ผคนตางโศกเศราเสยใจ และหลงไหลมารวมงานมากมาย โดยมความเชอวาผบชาหลวงปคง จะเดนทางแคลวคลาด ปลอดภยจากภยนตราย มผใหความเมตตา และผนบถอนยมนำา ขนมโค กาแฟดำา บหร 1 มวน และหนงตะลง มาแกบนอยเสมอ

หลวงพอแกนจนทน โดยมประวตเลาวาชาวบานซงอยรมทะเล ไปเจอพระพทธรป 3 องคลอยนำามาเกยตนทบานแหลมแค โดยพระพทธรปองคใหญแกะสลกสวยงามมากและมพระพทธรปองคเลกอก 2 องค เขาใจวาเปนพระลกศษย แตเนองจากวาชาวบาน บานแหลมแคเปนชาวอสลามทงหมด จงสงขาวมาบอกนายเทยนย เลาเซง กบนายหน โพธรตน ซงเปนไทยพทธ และเปนผรเรมกอตงวดชมภนมตร บคคลทงสองจงชกชวนชาวไทยพทธไปอญเชญพระพทธรปทงสามองคมาประดษฐานทวดชมภนมตร ซงชาวบานนยมไปกราบไหวบชา บนบานศาลกลาวขอพรและจะนำาขนมโคไปไหวเพอแกบน และดวยความศกดสทธ ของหลวงพอแกนจนทน พทธบรษทจงไดจดสรางวหารหลวงพอแกนจนทนเพอประดษฐาน และเพอเปนการปองกนผรายมาแอบมาขโมยไปเพราะหลวงพอแกนจนทน มอายเกาแกมาก ปจจบนสรางวหารเสรจสนแลวและดวยความจงรกภกดตอองคพระบาทสมเดจพระเจาอยหวฯ คณะกรรมการจงขอพระราชทานตราสญลกษณพระราชพธมหามงคลเฉลมพระชนมพรรษา ฉลองไวทหนาจววหารหลวงพอ

Chompoo Nimit Temple is the place which houses the statue of Luangpor Ganchan. According to legend, villagers living by the sea found three Buddha statues washed up by Baan Laem Khae’s shore. The largest one is beautifully carved and the other two are smaller and less intricate (presumably resembling the two protégés). Since the villagers of Baan Laem Khae are Muslims, they decided to inform Mr. Tianyee Laoseng and Mr. Hin Pothirath who were Buddhists and founders of Chompoo Nimit Temple. The two men then invited fellow Buddhists to bring the three statues to reside at Chompoo Nimit Temple where they still remain until today. Those who have faith often come here to make wishes and bring offerings after their wishes came true. Now, the statues are situated behind enclosed walls to protect them from burglars as they are considered ancient treasures. As a sign of love and respect for His Majesty King Bhumiphol, the committee has asked for his signage to be placed in front of the hall.

เปนถำาทมลกษณะผสมผสานระหวางโพรงถำาและถำาธารลอดเปนโพรงถำาหนปนม 2 ชน โพรงถำาชนบนมขนาดสงประมาณ 40 เมตร กวางประมาณ 30 เมตร ลกประมาณ 30 เมตร พบลกษณะหนงอกหนยอยและหนปนฉาบ ซงเกดจากการสะสมตวของตะกอนจากนำาทมสารละลายแคลเซยมคารบอเนต ไหลเปนแผนเคลอบอยบนพนผวของถำา นอกจากนบรเวณโพรงถำาชนลางมความสงประมาณ 10 เมตร มลำาธารทสามารถไหลทะลออกไปนอกถำาได ปจจบนเปนสถานปฏบตธรรมของพทธศาสนกชนทสนใจ

Samnak Patibat Tham, Phuttha Kiri Cave is situated in a cave with connecting cavities. The stalagmite cave has two levels with the upper level being 40 meters high, 30 meters wide and 30 meters deep. It is filled with beautiful hanging rock formations that resulted from calcium carbonate residue build-up. The lower level is ten meters high and has a stream running out into the exterior. The sanctuary is open to all Buddhists who wish to practice Dhamma.

Mambang Mosque

Originally named “Tur Ngah” or “Akeebee”, Mambang Mosque was built during the era of Phraya Apai Nuraj in the year 1974 with architectural design from Malaga. The building was later torn down then rebuilt and His Majesty King Bhumiphol came to the opening ceremony on 20 September, 1979. Mumbang Mosque is the center where Muslims living in Satun Province gather for religious rituals. Its architecture consists of a single dome shaped like a lotus or ship on a Thai chess board which is considered a new type of architecture. At the top of the dome is a crescent moon, the symbol of the Islamic religion.

(คฤหาสนกเดน) สรางเมอ พ.ศ. 2441 โดยพระยาภมนารถภกด เจาเมองสตลในสมยพระบาทสมเดจพระจลจอมเกลาเจาอยหว คฤหาสนนสรางขนเพอเปนทประทบของพระองคคราวเสดจปกษใต แตไมไดประทบแรม แตเคยใชเปนบานพกและศาลาวาการเมองสตล จนในสมยสงครามโลกครงท 2 ราวป พ.ศ. 2484 อาคารหลงนใชเปนกองบญชาการทหารญปน เคยใชเปนศาลากลางจงหวดสตล และเปนสถานทสำาคญทางราชการ ตอมาป พ.ศ.2540-2543 กรมศลปากรไดปรบปรงคฤหาสนกเดน เปนอาคารกออฐถอปน 2 ชน เปนตกแบบตะวนตก ประตหนาตางรปโคงตามแบบสถาปตยกรรมยโรป หลงคาทรงปนหยาแบบไทยใชกระเบองดนเผารปกาบกลวย บานหนาตางเปนแผนไมชนเลกๆ เปนเกลดแนวนอน ชองลมดานบนตกแตงรปดาวตามลกษณะสถาปตยกรรมแบบอสลาม ภายในจดแสดงประวตศาสตรเมองสตล วถชวตของชาวสตลในดานตางๆ

Satun National Museum - Kuden Mansion, was built in 1898 by the commission of Phraya Phuminatphakdi who was governor of Satun during the reign of King Rama 5. This building was constructed as the king’s accommodation during his visits to the south even though he has never spent a night there. Anyway, the mansion did serve as Satun’s Town Hall until during World War 2, around the year 1941, it was used as the head quarter for Japanese Troops. Later in the years 1997-2000, the Ministry of Fine Arts had it restored into a Western style two-story brick building. Doors and windows are arched in European style while the tiled roof remains prominently Thai. The window shutters are made of pieces of wood laid horizontally while the air vent at the top showcases the crescent moon according to Islamic architecture. Inside, you will find displays of Satun’s history and its people’s way of life.

คอคำาเรยกขานเกาะแหงหนงของชาวชมชนตนหยงโป ซงเปนสงมหศจรรยกลางทะเลอนดามน ในยามนำาทะเลลดลงเหมอนกระแสนำาหลกทางใหสนทรายโผลขนมา ซงเปนสนทรายทเตมไปดวยซากเปลอกหอยนบหลายลานตวทบถมกน ทำาใหเกดเปนเสนทางคดเคยวยาวกวา 4 กโลเมตร กวางประมาณ 20 เมตร สามารถเชอมไปยงอกเกาะหนงได หรอเปรยบเสมอนกบมงกรฟาถลาลงเลนนำา ใหเราไดเดนบนสนหลงมงกรทเคลอนไหวพลวอยางสวยงาม เปนอกหนงสถานททองเทยวทนกทองเทยวไมควรพลาด ซงนกทองเทยวสามารถขนเรอหางยาวนำาเทยวไดททาเรอบานบากนเคย ตำาบลตนหยงโป ใชเวลาเดนทางเพยง 20 นาท และยงสามารถนงเรอชมเกาะกวาง เปนเกาะเลกๆ ทอยบรเวณเดยวกน และสมผสวถชวตชาวเลทปเลาอบ เปนสถานททองเทยวทสามารถมาเทยวไดตลอดป และเทยวได 2 ครงในหนงวน คอชวงนำาลง ซงในหนงวนจะมชวงนำาลง 2 ครง

Dragon’s Back Beach is a name given to an island by the Tan Yong Po villagers. It is considered a miracle in the middle of The Andaman Sea which occurs during low tide when water level recedes, exposing a strip of sand filled with millions of sea shells. This winding strip is 4 kilometers long and 20 meters wide, connecting itself to a nearby island. This occurrence is compared to a dragon swooping down to swim in the ocean and the winding strip is its spine. This ‘must see’ place is accessible by long-tailed boat from Baan Bagan Koey Pier, T. Tan Yong Po. The journey takes only 20 minutes and visitors can also take the boat ride to Koh Kwang, a small island located in the same area. You can also enjoy witnessing the fishermen’s way of life at Pulao Ubee, an attraction opened year-round. You can visit this attraction twice per day when the tide is low.

Phu Pha Pet Cave is an attraction in Satun Province with a huge interior area of 20 acres. Mother Nature has carefully created this beautiful place filled with hanging limestone which has been forming for over one hundred million years. Archaeologists and experts from Archaeological Office & Songkhla National Museum 10th have come to inspect the cave according to a monk named Luang Ta Plang who discovered it.

The interior of the cave is separated into 20 different sections with lights fixtures along the path way. Each section is named according to its topography; and if you were to venture to the very end, you will see a cavity. The ceiling of this cavity is open, allowing natural lightto shine onto the green limestone formations, illuminating the central space with sparkling emerald color. This is considered a high-light not to be missed.
