Farewell Party 2014

Our annual event “Farewell Party” was held on December 13th at MISHOP and 104 people including fore ign c i t izens par t i c ipated in i t and enjoyed fr iendships exchanging through games and conversations. The pa r t y s ta r ted w i th the greeting by our Director Mr.Hiroshi Kikuchi and followed by “Bottoms UP” by a representative of the participants, Ram from Nepal. After the greeting by Mitaka City Mayor Ms.Keiko Kiyohara, the participants were divided into 8 groups and played Bingo. After Bingo. “Jyanken” (Rock, Scissors and Paper) competition took place and Singh from India won the tournament. The NIKO player (Chinese instrument) guest Yuki Hamajima played Christmas and Chinese songs. Once he started playing the music, everybody stopped talking and listened to the beautiful tunes. It seems the party ended with success. Everybody enjoyed the food, drinks and conversations with each other.

Happy New Year ! Our bulletins “ みんなの活かつどう

動だより ”are being delivered since August 2011 and published 11 times last year. This year we are planning to issue them monthly. We mainly convey all sorts of event reports held at MISHOP. Citizens of Mitaka City and the exchange students of Tokyo University exchanged friendships.

“A Special Gathering for Mitaka City Residents at The University of Tokyo Mitaka International Hall of Residence” took place on December 6th at the dormitory of Shinkawa.It has been 21 years since they started this annual event. This time the organizer was the university and postgraduate students. They also presented 6 research reports with posters.In this event, the lecture by Professor Tom Gally, (professor of College and graduate School of Arts and Sciences of Tokyo University), “What Will Happen to Our Languages?” was presented in Japanese and we were all convinced that our words are alive. Bridal Kimono Experience was arranged by our LLJ group and 2 exchange students participated in it. They received applauds from the audience when they appeared on the stage in pretty bridal Kimono.
