Establishment and development of Dongbei Special Steel Group

Dongbei Special Steel Group is the consolidation of the state-owned special steel enterprises in China including Dalian Iron& Steel Group, Fushun Special Steel Group and Beiman Special Steel Group

Dalian Iron& Steel Group established in 1905, which was the producer for precision alloy , the key base for high speed tool steel and special steel wire in China.

Fushun Special Steel Group set up in 1937, which was the first banner in special steel field in China. The stainless steel , ultra-high strength steel , high speed tool steel and super alloy produced by ourselves are firstly studied and manufactured successfully by it.

Beiman Special Steel Group was founded and started up in 1957,and is the sole special steel constructive item among 156 key items in the period of “First Five Year Plan ”, it is the pillar supplying base in developing national defence and military affairs.

Establishment and development of Dongbei Special Steel Group Early in year of 2002 ， Liaoning provincial party committee and government h

ad made a decision that the chairman and general manager ZhaoMingyuan from Dalian Iron& Steel Group would hold the position of the chairman and general manager concurrently in Fushun Special Steel Group, and conducted deep reforms and the passive situations had been changed and meanwhile Liaoning Special Steel Group had been reconstructed.

On 16th ,January 2003 ， Liaoning Special Steel Group was merged on the basis of Dalian Iron& Steel Group and Fushun Special Steel Group.

With Liaoning Special Steel Group reconstructed, the complementary advantages emerged quickly. In the year 2003, the main economic and technical norms for Dalian and Fushun realized the optimum level in history, in the year 2002, the balance sheet between the two enterprises after merging was compared, the total gross output of industry increased by 49.53% ， the output of steel increased by 32.43% ， the output of quality special steel products increased by 41.29%.

Dongbei Special Steel Group’s establishment and development

Many years of backward management, and the accumulated effects, On 23th, September 2003, Beiman Special Steel Group declared that they would stop production.

Beiman Special Steel Group was one of the four economic pillar enterprises in Helongjiang, whatever its status and its political standing, it had influence on its locality. When the enterprise stopped production it had a serious effect on political stablility and economic development in Heilongjiang.

On 26th,October 2003, under the support of Liaoning and Heilongjiang provincial party committee and government, Liaoning Special Steel Group started to trust Beiman Special Steel Group, and reconstructed Dongbei Special Steel Group interprovincially.

eration officially. Its head office is in the beautiful coastal city of Dalian.

Dongbei Special Steel Group has included 6 subsidiaries with total assets, 11 holding companies and 1 company with join stock.
