52014 Fees Canada Refund Policy CanadaThe Registration Fee is non-refundable at all times except in thecase where the student visa has been rejected. Should a studentvisa be rejected rom a Canadian Embassy, the rejection lettershould be submitted in order to have the registration fee refunded.All deposits will also be refunded upon submission of the offi cialrejection notification from the Canadian Embassy.
To apply for a tuition refund, the student or agent must submit a
written notice of withdrawal.There are no refunds for classes missed due to holiday, graduation,orientation, and / or other situations beyond the schools control.
In this policy, the word program re ers to the ull cycle o studiesto which the student registered. All refunds apply based on theassumption that the full payment has been received.

1.a If a student cancels 30 days or more before the start ofthe program, the school will retain 25% of the fees dueunder the contract and refund 75% of the fees to thestudent.
1.b If a student cancels less than 30 days before the start ofthe program, the school will retain 40% of the fees due
under the contract and refund 60% of the fees to thestudent.

2.a If a student cancels (or is dismissed) within 5 calendardays of the start date of the program, the school willreturn 50% of all unused tuition fees paid under thecontract.
2.b No refund will be paid if a student cancels (or isdismissed) when more than 5 days o the programhave been completed.
2.c Refunds on postponed starting dates are based on theoriginal start dates (applies also to students trans erringfrom one GV school to another).
Homestay Refund Policy3. If written cancellation notice is given 12 weeks or more before
beginning of homestay, all money will be refunded includingHomestay Placement Fee.

5. For refund requests after commencement of Homestay:
.a The student should in orm the GV Homestay Offi ce inwriting three weeks before the end of the homestayperiod i he/she decides to terminate the agreedhomestay period. If the notification period is less
than 3 weeks, then in addition to the non-refundablenotification period, a 150 cancellation fee will apply.
5.b If the host family has failed to meet the Homestayconditions, the student will be moved to anotherHomestay, and there will be no refund given for theperiod of homestay already used.
6. Language Coop Program Refund Policy:Coop Support Fee fully refundable in case of documented visarejection. All other refunds subject to refund policy found atwww.gvenglish.com.

Refund, Transfer and Admissions Policies United StatesGeneral Refund Policy
. In this policy, the word program refers to the full cycle ofstudies to which the student registered. Extensions of studieswill be treated separately.
2. To be considered for a refund, a student or agent mustsubmit a completed Cancellation Form or notify the school inwriting of the cancellation by some other means.
3. There is an Accommodation & Study Program Cancellation/Reduction/Change fee. If the student came through anagency, Global Village Hawaii will check with the studentsagency for any other fees that they may assess. Additionalfees may apply from outside vendor accommodations otherthan homestay. This fee does not apply to Accommodationor Study Program extensions.
4. For the Teen Activity Program and other specialized ActivityPrograms [e.g. Study tours, English Plus, etc.], there areno refunds for homestays, activities, airport transfers, orexcursions, but only or tuition that is offered as per thenormal Cancellation/Withdrawal policy [see below].
. There are no refunds or make-up classes for classes missed
due to holidays, graduation, orientation, natural disastersand/or other situations beyond the schools control.
. If Global Village Hawaii cancels a program that a studentregistered or, and pro ciently placed into, Global VillageHawaii will refund all monies paid by the student. If you camethrough an agency, Global Village Hawaii will check with youragency and let you know of any other fees that they mayassess.
. If a student is dismissed from school for violating schoolpolicies, the Global Village Hawaii cancellation policy willapply rom the students last date o attendance.
8. It is understood that students who register through travelagents have signed contracts with these agents that mayinclude cancellation penalties, no refund policies, or home
country refunds only conditions. In all cases regardingagent sent students, Global Village Hawaii will confirm theconditions o agent student contracts with travel agentsbefore issuing any refunds.
9. Textbook ees will not be re unded once the books havebeen issued to the student. If a student has the same editionof textbook(s) from previous studies, the student mayrequest a re und or the new textbook(s). The request mustbe made within the first week of studies. No refunds will begiven beyond this period.
10. Refunds are issued within 45 days after the date of receipto the written notice o cancellation. I the student camethrough an agency, the agency may have other restrictions orees. Global Village Hawaii will contact the students agency
and let the student know of any other conditions.
1. Cancellation/Withdrawal of Enrollment before the studentsstart program date or never attended class (no show):
11.a Global Village Hawaii will refund all monies paid lessthe registration ee, accommodation placement ees,any actual housing costs incurred by Global VillageHawaii, express mail ees, SEVIS related ees and anyaccommodation deposits. However, if a studentcancels within 72 hours of making the registration,Global Village Hawaii will refund ALL monies paid lessnonre undable accommodation deposits, express mailfees and SEVIS related fees, if applicable.
11.b Students Denied Visa/Entry: A student denied
a student visa or entry into the United Stateswill be given a full refund of all monies paid lessnonrefundable accommodation deposits, any actualhousing costs incurred by Global Village Hawaii,
express mail fees and SEVIS related fees, if applicable.A maximum of $500 of nonhousing related fees maybe charged.
12. Cancellation/ Withdrawal of Enrollment after the studentsstart program date:For all cancellations, students must notify Global VillageHawaii by completing a Cancellation Form or notifying theschool in writing of the cancellation by some other means. If astudent does not notify the school that he/she is withdrawing,Global Village Hawaii will check attendance records and if thestudent has been absent for more than 10 consecutive classsessions, the student will be dismissed rom school and thestudents I-20 Form will be terminated. Global Village Hawaiiwill calculate the students re und (i applicable) based onthe last day of attendance. Any money to be refunded will bemailed to students home address or to their travel agent. In
ll cases an Accommodation & Study Program Cancellation/Reduction/Change Fee will be applied.
The ollowing calculation is made or tuition and specializedprograms:
12.a No refunds will be given for the first 4 weeks of the
students study program.12.b Students who cancel/withdraw after the first 4 weeks
but before or at the midpoint of the students studyprogram, Global Village Hawaii may retain a prorated
mount o tuition. For students who withdraw a terthe midpoint, Global Village Hawaii may retain all ofthe charges or the students study program.
1 .c Prorated re unds will be calculated on a weekly basis.When determining the number of weeks, GlobalVillage Hawaii de nes a partial week as i a whole weekwere completed, provided the student was present atleast one day during the scheduled week.
12.d Students who cancel/withdraw after completing theinitial study program, but be ore or at the midpoint o
ny subsequent study program, GV Hawaii may retainprorated amount of tuition up to the midpoint. For
students who cancel/withdraw a ter the midpoint ony subsequent study program, GV Hawaii may retainll of the tuition for that study program.
12.e Refunds due students may not be applied towarduture tuition ees.
12. Students who cancel/withdraw be ore the rst 4 weeksor after the midpoint of the students study programdue to a death o an immediate amily member(spouse, parent, grandparent, child, brother, sister,mother-in-law, father-in-law, or legal guardian), GlobalVillage Hawaii will refund 50% of the students unused
tuition upon receiving offi cial documentation o theimmediate family members death.
Accommodation Refund Policies13. Homestay:
Cancellation/Withdrawal be ore beginning o homestay:
13.a If written cancellation/change notice is given 8 weeksor more be ore the beginning o homestay, all moneywill be refunded including the AccommodationPlacement Fee.
13.b If written cancellation/change notice is given less than8 weeks before beginning of the homestay, all moneywill be refunded except for the Accommodation
Placement Fee.

13.c The student should inform the Global Village HawaiiAccommodations Offi ce in writing three weeksbefore the end of the homestay period if he/shedecides to terminate the agreed homestay period. Ifthe notification period is less than 3 weeks, then inaddition to the nonrefundable notification period,an Accommodation Cancellation/Reduction fee will
apply.
13.d If the host family has failed to meet homestayconditions, then the Accommodations Coordinatormust be notified and given a chance to mediateand/or correct the problem(s). Only after theAccommodations Coordinators intervention, andif the problem(s) persist, the student will be movedto another homestay and there will be no refundgiven for the period of homestay already used. Onlyif no replacement homestay can be found will an
ccommodation refund be issued.
4. VH Residences:
There are no re unds or the Kaimuki and Kapiolani residence
rent, check-out fees, security deposits, AccommodationPlacement Fee, and other related ees once the room isconfirmed for the student.

There are no refunds for apartment and dormitory securitydeposits if the student cancels their accommodation bookingsbe ore arrival.
5.a If written cancellation notice is given 30 days ormore before the beginning of apartment check-in, allmoney will be refunded except for a $35 apartmentcancellation fee and the Accommodation Placement

Transfer Policy7. Transferring to GV Hawaii: A bona fide non immigrant
student enrolled as a ull-time F-1 student may trans er toV Hawaii. All GV Hawaii admissions procedures must be
completed. In addition, transfer applicants must:
17.a Notify current school of intent to transfer.
17.b Have current school complete Global Village HawaiisInternational Student Transfer form.
7.c Submit a copy of current I-20 form (full-timestudents), passport, and all applicable Global VillageHawaiis admission documents.
18. Transferring to Another School: Please talk to the StudentServices Manager to complete the appropriate forms. Thestudent may also need to have GV Hawaii complete formsfrom the new school (talk to the new school to see if anyapplicable forms are needed).
Refund, Transfer and Admissions Policies United StatesAdmissions PolicyGlobal Village Hawaii provides first-class English languageinstruction to students 16 years and older who wish toenter American universities or study English for personal orprofessional reasons. Global Village Hawaii also offers privateessons to students of all ages, while the Teen Activity Program
is offered to students of the ages 12 to 17 years old. Global
Village Hawaii welcomes all nationalities and there are noacademic requirements for most courses (contact the school forspecific course requirements). Students must comply with theDepartment of Homeland Security and U.S. Department of Stateregulations and meet the required skill level necessary for entryinto a particular course or level. Students are evaluated withplacement tests and/or academic counseling on the students firstday of school to determine the appropriate course and level.
Admissions Process for Non-Student Visa [F-1] students:For courses with 21 lessons (or less) per week (less than 18 hoursper week)
1. Submit a completed Global Village Hawaii Registration Formonline or by email, fax, mail, or in person.
2. n Admissions Deposit of USD $500 is required to processthe students registration. Also, any accommodation depositsmust be paid at this time to secure the students room.Contact the school or availability.
3. Global Village Hawaii will send the student an invoice of theremaining balance and a letter o acceptance by email or axto confirm the registration.
. Remaining balance of the students tuition, accommodationnd other ees must be paid by or on the rst day o the
students studies. Payment may be made by credit card, wiretransfer, money order, or bank draft. Additional bank chargesmay also apply.

3. Once all the above admissions items are submitted, GlobalVillage Hawaii will send the students I-20 Form by mailwithin 5 business days. The school will not be responsible or
ny express courier charges.
. fter the student receives the I-20 Form from GlobalVillage Hawaii, the student will need to pay the SEVIS fee(I-901) online at: www.fmjfee.com and print out the SEVISfee payment receipt for the Student Visa interview. Leave of Absence Policylobal Village Hawaii students must request a leave of absence
in writing (e.g. complete the Leave of Absence Request Form)at least a week prior to the start date o the leave o absence
(LOA), unless unforeseen circumstances prevent the studentrom doing so. I the student does not report back to school atthe end of the LOA, and misses 10 consecutive class sessions, he/she will be dismissed from school and the students I-20 Form willbe terminated based on the last day of attendance. The GlobalVillage Hawaii Cancellation Policy will be applied based on thestudents last day o attendance. Students requesting a LOAnormally do not receive a refund for the period of the leave.
lobal Village Hawaii approves written requests or Leave oAbsence (LOA) of up to 28 calendar days for students who are ingood standing and have studied 5 consecutive full terms. A fullterm is de ned as the student starting rom the rst day o thestudy term and finishing on the last day of the study term. Partialterm completion does not accrue time toward the 5 consecutive
full terms. Accrued LOA must be used within a year being earned.Emergency leave o absences may be granted due to:
. Medical Leave: Student must provide a doctors note uponreturn from their leave of absence, otherwise the days missedrom school will be marked as absent and the attendance
policy applies.
. Family Emergency:This pertains to death o a amilymember; severely ill or hospitalized family member; or otheramily events [i.e. getting married] etc. Special exceptions can
be made to non-family members depending on the type ofrelationship with the student.
Students will need to see the Assistant Director/Student ServicesManager for approval of their requested leave of absence. Any
approved leave o absences may consist o multiple leaves oabsences provided the total leave does not exceed 90 calendardays in a 12 month period or 50% o the students programlength, whichever is shorter. The length of the leave of absencemay be extended provided all the conditions above are met. Toextend, a written request must be given to the Assistant Director/Student Services Manager or approval prior to the end o thecurrent LOA.
GV General Conditions14Prices: All registrations or studies in 2014 received prior toNovember 1, 2013, will be charged the 2013 rate for tuition. Thispolicy does not apply to accommodations.
