怎樣準備一場演講 ?

一、短小精悍 講的人：沒有什麼好講 聽的人：沒有耐心去聽

Four score and seven years ago, our fathers brought forth upon this continent a new nation, conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

We have come to dedicate a portion of that field as a final resting-place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.

The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. 揚帆待發　二００一年清華大學畢業典禮致詞

各位貴賓，各位家長，各位老師，各位同學：

今天是清華大學八十九學年的畢業典禮，也是新世紀開始的第一個畢業典禮，也是清華大學創校九十週年的畢業典禮。在這個隆重難忘的典禮上，我首先要向各位畢業同學和家長致恭賀之意。

多年前，你們懷著一份喜悅和一些惶恐的心情，踏進了人生旅程的一個新階段，離開家庭，來到清華，成為一個大學生。今天，你們要畢業了。差不多在四年以前，我也懷著同樣的心情，結束了在海外四十年的學術生涯，回到清華大學來。不久的將來，我也要從我的工作崗位畢業了。我和諸位都是今年的應屆畢業生。

多年的學習，多年的磨練，多年的成長，當我們又將踏入人生旅程的下一個階段的時候，我們心裡有些什麼話，要和大家分享呢？

首先，我們要以感恩的心情，向父母、家人、師長和每一個愛護我們、關心我們、作育我們的人說謝謝。

多年的學習，多年的磨練，多年的成長，我們變得更虛心了。…

多年的學習，多年的磨練，多年的成長，我們也建立起來我們的信心。…

多做幾場夢　建國中學演講

有人問，你為什麼今天要到建國中學來演講？我有三個不是我要到建國中學來演講的原因：第一、我的家不在建國中學旁邊，所以我不是要來打擾我的鄰居；第二、我不是重男輕女，要來一所只有男生的學校；第三、我不是要來跟大家說，畢業後要以進入清華大學為第一志願。我的責任是要把清華大學辦好。清華辦得好，我不說大家也會以進入清華為第一志願，清華辦得不好，我說了也沒有用。

但是，我也有三個要到建國中學來演講的理由：第一、我要圓我四十八年以前想踏進建中的大門的夢；第二、我認為大學與中、小學之間，應該有密切的溝通和互動；第三、我很喜歡演講。

有人問過我，一個年輕人，應該怎樣分配他的時間和精力，多做一些什麼事情。我的回答是：多看幾本書，多打幾場球，多唱幾首歌，多照幾回鏡子和多做幾場夢。

我說多看幾本書…

我說要多做幾場夢…

青春的夢是最美的，青春的理想是最光明的。允許我跟諸位相比：我能夠跟諸位一樣多看好書和雜書，一樣在球場上（其實是乒乓球桌上和網球場上，沒有「肢體衝撞」的運動）互比高下，一樣去 KTV 引吭高歌，一樣穿起西裝、打起領帶出席宴會和酒會。但是，諸位可以做的夢，可以追求的理想，會遠比我可以做的夢和追求的理想，更廣、更闊、更高、更遠、更多采多姿、更光輝燦爛。我羨慕你們。

諸位同學，你們是國家社會的精英，你們是天之驕子。在你們的身上，我看到國家社會、世界人類的未來。多多努力，好自珍重。讓我們相約在清華。

中國古典詩詞中的愛情 為朱琦博士「中國古典詩詞中的愛情」演講所作引言 我謹代表清華大學歡迎和感謝朱琦博士到清華來，為我們詮釋中國詩詞中所表達的真愛與深情，幫助我們欣賞洋溢著深愛與真情的中國詩詞。「問世間情為何物，直教人生死相許」；「情」，難以描述，不可捉摸；「情」，揮之不去，不呼亦來。我們都感受過、體會過：「此情無計可消除，才下眉頭，卻上心頭」的思念之情；「柔情似水，佳期如夢」的溫馨之情；「多情卻似總無情，唯怕樽前笑不成」的離別之情；「浮雲遊子意，落日故人情」的依綣之情；「千金縱買相如賦，脈脈此情誰訴」的含蓄之情；對像我這個年紀的人，「多情應笑我，早生華髮」的無奈之情。

高平磊晶 高平磊晶科技有限公司新廠啟用典禮上致詞 「高平磊晶」是一個響亮的名字：

「高」就是「目標高，技術高，品質高，利潤高」；「平」就是「平和，平順，平步青雲」；「磊」有三塊石，代表「高平磊晶」的基礎「安如磐石，穩如泰山」；「晶」有三個太陽，代表「高平磊晶」的前途「無限光明」。

「高平磊晶」也是謝董事長個人的寫照。謝董事長有：

「高瞻遠矚」的眼光；「平易近人」的風度；「磊落豪放」的個性；「玉潔冰晶」的品格。

我們恭祝「高平磊晶」科技股份有限公司：

誠實和坦白的話 二○○二年六月一日婚禮上致詞

當我擔任清華大學校長職務的時候，常常有人請我在婚禮上講話。我曾經問他們為什麼要請我講話，他們都說：「因為你們當大學校長的，道貌岸然，喜歡講冠冕堂皇的話。」。所以當亨進兄（新娘的令尊）跟我說要我在婚禮上講話的時候，我問他說：「我現在不是大學校長，不必再講冠冕堂皇的話了，你們要我講些什麼話呢？」他跟我說：「你就誠實、坦白地把心裡的話講出來就好了。」

在婚禮上，冠冕堂皇的一句話是「郎才女貌」。今天我心裡頭誠實坦白的一句話是「郎才女才，郎貌女貌」。

在婚禮上，冠冕堂皇的一句話是「百年好合」。…今天我心裡頭誠實坦白的一句話是「兩百年好合」。

在婚禮上，冠冕堂皇的一句話是「早生貴子」。今天我心裡頭誠實坦白的一句話是「早生也要多生貴子、貴女和天才兒童」。

在婚禮上，冠冕堂皇的一句話是「結緍以後，不要忘記父母的作育和母校教育之恩。」今天我心裡頭誠實坦白的一句話是「以後賺了錢，要多孝敬父母，也要多捐錢給台北醫學院、台大，尤其是清華大學！」

最後，也是冠冕堂皇的話，也是誠實坦白的話，我們恭賀新郎和新娘，祝福他們有無限的恩愛，無比的快樂和無盡的幸福。

珠聯璧合 二０００年七月三日交通大學陳龍英教授令郎陳柏蒼先生與行政 院副院長、前清華大學校長劉兆玄令嬡劉正薇小姐婚禮，敦請連 戰副總統福證，交通大學張俊彥校長任男方介紹人，我任女方介 紹人。講詞中的黃媽媽，是劉家、也是我的好朋友，她幫忙照顧 劉正薇小姐從小到大。

當我很興奮的跟我一位好朋友，也是看著新娘從小長大的黃媽媽說：「我將以介紹人的身分來吃喜酒」的時候，黃媽媽跟我說：「新郎和新娘從幼稚園開始就是同學，新郎是大班，新娘是小班，後來在新竹科學園區實驗中學也是同學，愛情長跑達十年，還需要你來當介紹人嗎？」

我想這的確很有道理，所以馬上改口說：「介紹人的第二個任務，是要把新郎、新娘的才華和成就做一個介紹。」黃媽媽跟我說：「新郎是體育健將，他的短跑、跳高的紀錄，至今在實驗中學無人打破，也曾獲得全國中上運動會十項全能的金牌。新娘是東森電視台的主播，是一個大家都熟悉也非常欣賞的新聞工作者，大家早就耳熟能詳。他們喜訊傳出之後，在報上、電視上更有很多的報導，還需要你來介紹嗎？」

我想這的確很有道理，所以馬上又改口說：「介紹人的另一個任務是要把新郎、新娘的家世背景向來賓做一個介紹。」黃媽媽說：「新郎的令尊是空大校長、交大教務長，新娘的令尊是行政院副院長，曾任交通部部長、國科會主委、清華大學校長，都是家喻戶曉、大家非常景仰的公眾人物，還需要你來介紹嗎 ?」

我想這的確更有道理，所以馬上又改口說：「男女雙方請了張俊彥校長和我當介紹人，我們的任務是要把交通大學和清華大學的校務發展現況和教育理念，向來賓做一個介紹。」黃媽媽說：「這樣說起來，還有點道理。」不過我想，今天是喝喜酒的好日子，不是談辦教育的時候，所以我只希望並祝福新郎、新娘，將來有兩個寶寶的話，一個進交大，一個進清華；有四個寶寶的話，兩個進交大，兩個進清華；

有八個寶寶的話，四個進交大，四個進清華。

恭喜！恭喜！謝謝！謝謝！

我和兆寧兄相識已經近四十年了，我們同一年在美國獲得博士學位，而且我們研究的領域非常接近，時常有人誤將他發表的學術論文，當作我的論文，我因此也沾了不少的光。我認得兆寧兄之後，常常心裡想「哪一位媽媽，有這樣的福氣，有這麼一位溫文爾雅、彬彬君子的兒子？」我和兆漢兄在伊利諾大學香檳校區同事近二十年，他是中央大學校長，亦是中研院院士，我常常在心裡想「哪一位媽媽，有這樣的福氣，有這麼一位在學術上非常傑出的兒子？」我和兆藜兄也是在伊利諾大學香檳校區同事近二十年，我看到他的時候，常常心裡想「哪一位媽媽，有這樣的福氣，有這麼一位英俊、魁梧、瀟灑的兒子？」兆玄兄曾任清華大學校長、交通部長、國科會主委，現任行政院副院長，我常常心裡想「哪一位媽媽，有這樣的福氣，有這麼一位能幹卓越、為國為民奉獻的兒子？」兆凱兄是東訊公司的總經理，事業有成，我常常心裡想「哪一位媽媽，有這樣的福氣，有這麼一位在企業上有大成就的兒子？」

劉家的六位媳婦，我都先後有機會認得，她們都是在事業上有成就，令人讚羨的賢妻良母。我亦常常在心裡想「哪一位婆婆，有這樣的福氣，有六位這麼賢慧能幹的媳婦？」

劉伯母有十四個孫子孫女，兆寧兄的男女公子，都是美國名校的博士。兆華兄的公子曾任職白宮，為柯林頓總統撰寫講稿。兆漢兄的男女公子和我的女兒是中學同學，他們兩位都是史丹福大學的博士。兆藜兄的女公子，是一位在電影界甚有成就的編導。兆玄兄的兩位女公子，分別是電視新聞的主播和台大資訊糸的高材生。兆凱兄的兩位公子聰敏活潑，剛剛還上台致賀詞。當我看到他們的時候，心裡就想「哪一位奶奶，有這樣的福氣，有這麼一群可愛、有成就的孫子？」

認識她老人家之後，我不禁常常心裡想「哪一個兒子，這樣幸福，有這麼慈祥的一位媽媽；哪一個媳婦，這樣幸福，有這麼慈祥的一位婆婆；哪一個孫子，這樣幸福，有這麼慈祥的一位奶奶」。做為一個晚輩，我還要加上「哪一個晚輩，這樣幸福，有這麼慈祥的一位長輩？」

劉伯母，我們大家一起祝賀您生日快樂，身體健康，萬壽無疆。

永恆的思念和追憶 二００二年二月四日卸任典禮上致詞

四年以前，我帶著對清華十分的尊敬，回來清華大學服務，今天我帶著對清華萬分的愛，離開我的工作崗位。四年以前，我帶著一份感恩的心情回來，感激清華給我的機會，感激大家給我的榮耀。今天，我帶著一份感恩的心情離開我的工作崗位，感激清華給我的教育，感激大家對我的愛護與支持，感激清華賜給我永恆的、美麗的思念和追憶。
