األكادميي، إميانا منها بأننا أمام حقبة جديدة تستوجب مضاعفة الجهد، وتستلزم زيادة العطاء، لنحقق بإذن الله

تعاىل املزيد من التطور واإلنجازات والتميز لجامعة أم القرى لنخدم وطننا ومجتمعنا ونرسخ وجودنا العاملي

خدمة للبرشية جمعاء.

ويف ظل هذه املنظومة املتكاملة، متكنت الجامعة بحمد الله تعاىل من تسجيل 100 براءة اخرتاع من أصل 510

طلب تسجيل تقدمت بها الجامعة خالل عامني يف مكتب براءات االخرتاع االمرييك )USPTO(، وهذا اإلنجاز

يعد مفخرة حقيقية لجامعة أم القرى والحمدلله رب العاملني.

إن النجاح الذي أحرزته جامعتنا العريقة إمنا كان بتوفيق من الله جل جالله، ثم كان مثرة شهية من مثرات رؤية

خادم الحرمني الرشيفني – حفظه الله- الذي بدأ مسرية تحول اململكة من االقتصاد الريعي إىل اقتصاد املعرفة،

لهذا الحقيقي املصنع هو العايل( )التعليم أن الله أدرك حفظه ولقد ومتزايدا. مستداما، دخال يحقق الذي

التحول املنشود، فلذلك دعم مسرية التعليم العايل دعام استثنائيا، واستطاع أن يحقق فيه قفزات نوعية، نشهد

اليوم بعض نتائجها يف واحدة من جامعات هذه البالد املباركة.

بالدعم الكامل واملؤازرة املستمرة من قيادتنا الرشيدة – حفظها الله - مل يتم إال بالقليل من إمكانات وطاقات

منسوبيها كام وكيفا ، وسيستمر العطاء واإلنجاز مبشيئة الله تعاىل وتوفيقه حتى نتمكن من أداء األمانة امللقاة

عىل عاتقنا عىل أتم وجه ... وستظل )جامعة أم القرى( بإذن الله جامعة يشار إليها بالبنان، وأدعو كل من عمل

وأنجز إىل مضاعفة العمل واإلنجاز، ويف الوقت نفسه أدعو كل من كان يف موقف املتأمل أو املرتدد أن يشمر عن

ساعده ويسهم معنا لتكون جامعتنا يف املكانة الالئقة بها علام وعمال وبحثا وإبداعا ومتيزا ومجتمعا .

وادي مكة األعامل، ورشكة ريادة املعريف، ومعهد واإلبداع لألعامل الجامعة وكالة أشكر أن واليفوتني ختاما

للتنقية، فقد كان لهذه الجهات ومنسوبيها أبلغ األثر يف هذا النجاح الذي نحتفي به اليوم.

فإن األعامل الفكرية سواء أكانت أدبية أو فنية أو صناعية يف حاجة إىل حامية وطنية ودولية لحقوق مؤلفها،

ال سيام أن وسائل النسخ العرصية تعرض املؤلفني إىل ضياع مجهوداتهم وفقدان حقوقهم وتثبيط معنوياتهم،

ولذلك ظهرت قوانني )امللكية الفكرية( التي تهدف إىل توثيق حقوق املبدعني وحفظها، ومتثل هذه القوانني

ظاهرة حديثة مقارنة باملواضيع االخرى التي عالجها القانون منذ ظهوره وبسط نفوذه.

واضح يف رسم تأثري ذا بات وقد العرص، املهمة يف هذا املوضوعات من الفكرية امللكية إن موضوع حقوق

سياسات الدول من الناحية االجتامعية واالقتصادية والتجارية، ومن هذا املنطلق سعت الجامعة بجهود رجالها

املخلصني إىل العناية بحقوق امللكية الفكرية من خالل إنشاء مكتب إدارة امللكية الفكرية بالجامعة الذي قام

بدوره يف هذا الجانب بكل كفاءة واقتدار ومتيز، حيث حقق ولله الحمد يف فرتة وجيزة من الزمن منذ إنشائه يف

منتصف شهر صفر من عام 1434 ه حتى اآلن انجازات تتفوق عىل املكاتب املناظرة يف الجامعات السعودية،

مام يعكس اسرتاتيجية الجامعة التي سارت نحو نرش ثقافة التطوير والتميز، واإلسهام يف بناء مجتمع معريف

مستدام، وحرصت عىل أن تكون مساهام سعوديا أساسيا وفعاال يف عرص االقتصاد املعريف.

وكذلك والطلبة، التدريس هيئة أعضاء أمام األول الخيار يكون أن األساسية أهدافه من املكتب جعل لقد

املخرتعني السعوديني من الشباب من خارج الجامعة، لحامية أفكارهم اإلبداعية وابتكاراتهم العلمية، من خالل

يعتمد تقدم كل أمة عىل مدى ما تحققه من بناء وتطوير ملواردها البرشية، وميثل التعليم الجامعي أحد أهم

وسائل إعداد املوارد البرشية وهو ما ميثل استثامرا اسرتاتيجيا لكل بلد، ومن خالل برامج التعليم العايل تتمكن

كل أمة من سد احتياجاتها من القوى العاملة واأليدي املاهرة التي تتطلبها سوق العمل واالحتياجات التنموية

الوطنية. ويتمثل التحدي الحقيقي اليوم ملؤسسات التعليم الجامعي يف تطوير اقتصاديات املعرفة والتي متثل

االقتصاد املبني بشكل مبارش عىل إنتاج ونرش واستخدام املعرفة يف صورة منتجات تجارية تستثمر فيها رشكات

أودية التقنية. ويف اململكة العربية السعودية، تحققت للتعليم العايل ولله الحمد قفزات نوعية نتيجة اإلميان

وهو يرتبط بالعقل الذي يعد أحد الرضورات الخمس يف ديننا الحنيف.

وقد انطلقت جامعة أم القرى يف التعامل مع اقتصاد املعرفة بعني ثاقبة ورؤية شاملة يدعمها باستمرار معايل

مدير الجامعة الدكتور بكري بن معتوق عساس حيث تبنت العديد من املبادرات النوعية التي ترمي إىل تحقيق

األهداف املنشودة يف هذا املجال تتمثل يف إنشاء معهد اإلبداع وريادة األعامل ورشكة وادي مكة للتقنية ومكتب

إدارة امللكية الفكرية وما يندرج تحتهم من مراكز وبرامج وبحوث ودراسات واستشارات.

تاريخ 1434/2/12هـ يؤكد دامئا عىل أهمية تسجيل براءات االخرتاع من أجل مواكبة الجامعة عرص االقتصاد

املعريف، ويعتمد املكتب اسرتاتيجية تنفيذية تركز عىل توفري بيئة مواتية للمبتكرين واملخرتعني من أجل استغالل

توعية من خالل حمالت أسايس نهج اعتامد وكذلك السوق، ومتطلبات والخربة العلمية املعرفة بني الرتابط

واسعة النطاق وتنفيذ ورش عمل تستهدف أكادمييي وطالب الجامعة واملخرتعني يف املجتمع السعودي، وذلك

لنرش وتعزيز ثقافة حقوق امللكية الفكرية ودورها يف دعم االقتصاد املعريف، عالوة عىل توفري التوجيه والتدريب

املعامل وواضحة ومبسطة إلكرتونية التسجيل عملية اعتامد إىل باإلضافة السعوديني الشباب من للمخرتعني

لتسهيل تبنيها من قبل املخرتعني واملبتكرين. إن بداية براءات االخرتاع بالجامعة انطلقت من الصفر قبل عامني

وقفزت إىل 510 طلب براءات اخرتاع يف جميع التخصصات ليحلق معها مكتب إدارة امللكية الفكرية يف سامء

التميز والتصنيف العاملي بعد بتسجيل 100 براءة اخرتاع يف مكتب براءات االخرتاع األمرييك USPTO وصدر

فعال منها 12 براءة اخرتاع حتى اآلن، وسيتوىل مبشيئة الله تعاىل ترجمة هذه االخرتاعات إىل منتجات ورشكات

ناشئة من خالل رشكة وادي مكة للتقنية بالجامعة التي تعمل من أجل تنمية االقتصاد املعريف.

كام حرص املكتب عىل تنظيم محارضات توعوية مبناسبة اليوم العاملي للملكية الفكرية، إىل جانب استضافة

لاللتقاء وذلك العامل، مستوى عىل االخرتاع وبراءات الفكرية امللكية يف املختصني املحامني أفضل من نخبة

مبخرتعي الجامعة والنقاش حول اخرتاعاتهم التي تم تقدميها وكيفية تطويرها والتحول التجاري لها باإلضافة إىل

استغالل التكامل بني الخربات العلمية والبحثية للجامعة.

ويحق لنا يف هذه الجامعة العريقة أن نفتخر بإنجازات مخرتعيها ومخرتعاتها والتي تحققت بفضل من الله

والتفوق هو رضبة حظ، يف حني أن الواقع والتجربة يثبتان أن النجاح هو علم وصناعة، والسعي لتحقيق التميز

بالتفوق واألفضلية عند تحقيق الذي مينحنا شعورا التميز الحياة؛ ذلك إليه يف مختلف جوانب نحتاج مطلب

حكيمة ووكالة متميزة لألعامل واإلبداع املعريف ومكتب إلدارة امللكية الفكرية حيث صنعت اإلدارة العليا النجاح

بوسائل الدعم والتشجيع واملؤازرة وساهمت وكالة األعامل واإلبداع املعريف يف هذا النجاح بعقول ناضحة وواعية

وعمل مكتب إدارة امللكية الفكرية بسواعد شابة واعدة وبدراية وإتقان وتوفيق ليشكل هذا املثلث مسرية نجاح

الباحثني وطلبة الجامعة، وتبسيط عملية التسجيل لرباءات االخرتاع وتحويلها لنظام إلكرتوين شامل، إىل جانب

بناء منوذج التحول التجاري لرباءات االخرتاع وتشجيع املخرتعني من خالل االحتفاء بهم بعد تسجيل وإصدار

براءات االخرتاع، معتمدا يف ذلك عىل منظومة متكاملة ومتفاعلة تتكون من ثالثة محاور عمل، تتمثل يف املحور

إىل تحويلها ثم وتسجيلها وحاميتها االخرتاعات إدارة أجل من التجاري، واملحور القانوين واملحور اإلبداعي

منتجات ذات قيمة اقتصادية، بالتعاون مع رشكة وادي مكة للتقنية، وذلك لتحقيق االستثامر األمثل يف العقول.

تعاملت جامعة أم القرى مع التحول إىل االقتصاد املعريف برؤية ثاقبة ونظرة شاملة دعمها وعززها معايل مدير

املعريف واإلبداع لألعامل الجامعة وكيل واقتدار جدارة بكل مالمحها ورسم عساس بكري الدكتور الجامعة

الدكتور نبيل كوشك حيث عملت عىل إنشاء حدائق املعرفة والحاضنات ومرسعات األعامل يف محاولة جادة

الستثامر طاقات أبنائها ومنسوبيها واملجتمع واستطاعت خالل السنوات القليلة الفائتة تحقيق نتائج مثمرة يف

هذا الجانب والحمد لله أوال وآخرا وتوجت جهودها بإنشاء رشكة وادي مكة للتقنية لتكون مرشوعا لتطوير

املشرتكة لصقل الخربات وتوفري البيئة الحاضنة لطلبة جامعة أم القرى وأساتذتها.

وتسعى الرشكة من خالل توجيه البحوث الجامعية إىل تحقيق مردود اقتصادي واملساعدة عىل ترسيع عمليات

تحويل االبتكارات التقنية وبراءات االخرتاع إىل منتجات تجارية إىل جانب االستشعار بالحاجة الوطنية للتحول

من االقتصاد االستهاليك إىل التعليم النوعي وإيجاد الوعي الثقايف ألهمية البحث والتطوير يف مقاربة حاجات

اإلنسان اليومية باإلضافة إىل تشجيع الصناعات الصغرى عىل دخول األسواق العاملية وكذا خلق الوعي باملسئولية

وتطويرها لدى األجيال املستقبلية وتعريفهم برضورة تطوير الفكر املهني املحرتف ملواجهة التحديات املستقبلية.

إن ما تحقق من إنجازات متسارعة يف زمن قصري من مسرية التوجه نحو االقتصاد املعريف يأيت أوال بتوفيق الله عز

وجل ثم مبا تحظى به الجامعة من عناية واهتامم بالغ من خادم الحرمني الرشيفني امللك عبدالله بن عبدالعزيز

يف عرص املعرفة ومن أجل دعم االقتصاد املعريف ألي دولة فإن امللكية الفكرية تلعب دورا رئيسيا يف ذلك كونها

تشري إىل اإلبداعات واالبتكارات واالخرتاعات سواء كانت أعامال أدبية، علمية، فنية، متتلك فرصة الستخدامها

يف املجال التجاري، وإدراكا ألهمية هذا الدور فقد أنيشء مكتب إدارة امللكية الفكرية بجامعة أم القرى بقرار

من معايل مدير الجامعة بتاريخ 1434/2/12هـ ويرتبط مبارشة بوكالة الجامعة لألعامل واإلبداع املعريف. يقدم

مكتب إدارة امللكية الفكرية خدمة تسجيل براءات االخرتاع ألعضاء هيئة التدريس والطالب والطالبات وأفراد

املجتمع، ويعتمد عمل املكتب عىل منظومة متكاملة ومتفاعلة تتكون من ثالثة محاور عمل هي:

- املحور اإلبداعي

- املحور القانوين

- املحور التجاري

من أجل تحويل االخرتاعات إىل منتجات

ذات قيمة اقتصادية وذلك لتحقيق االستثامر األمثل يف العقول.

- تبسيط عملية التسجيل لرباءات االخرتاع وتحويلها لنظام إلكرتوين شامل.

The timing verification method for deterministic and stochastic networks and circuits is a computerized method that includes a non-enumerative path length analysis algorithm for deterministic and stochastic directed acyclic graphs (DAGs) with applications to timing verification of circuits, the algorithm computing statistical measures of path lengths without storing and/or manipulating the paths in such networks. The timing verification method is able to compute deterministic or probabilistic costs assigned to edges, vertices, or both.

The timing verification method for stochastic networks and circuits is a computerized method that includes a Valued- Sum –of-Products (VSOP) tool as an extension to Zero-suppressed Binary Decision (ZBDD) to compute and store paths with their corresponding lengths or statistical parameters. This method starts from source vertices and inductively builds a path database in the topological order of gates. At each node the method builds a set of partial paths that terminated that node using VSOP operations, thereby the top k-most critical paths in integrated circuit networks.

A topical depilatory made the juice of a ripe of the Solanum incanum is provided. In use as a hair removal agent, the juice of the ripe fruit of Solanum incanum is topically applied to a desired region of skin. Preferably, the juice is left on the region of skin for approximately one hour. The system and method for scalar multiplication against differential power attacks (DPAs) delays required point additions in elliptic curve cryptosystem scalar multiplication. A buffer is used to store the points that will be added later in a random manner. Then. A randomly selected one of the stored points in the buffer is added to the accumulation point, or several randomly selected points are added consecutively. The method for generic-point parallel elliptic curve scalar multiplication replaces the pre-computation overhead of conventional elliptic curve scalar multiplication by post-computations that can be parallelized.This greatly increases the speed and efficiency of scalar multiplication performed in elliptic curve cryptography. According to the method, when scalar multiplication is required, the scalar integer is partitioned into a plurality of partitions, and calculations in each partition are performed simultaneously or in parallel on separate processors using conventional binary protocols. The bit size of each partition is adjusted to balance the load between the processors, i.e., so that each processor performs substantially the same number of point operations. The resulting calculations from each partition are accumulates or summed to produce the point that is the product of the scalar multiplication.

The tristhiourea tripodal metal complexes are a group of coordination compounds having a transition metal linked by coordinate covalent bods to a chelating agent. The chelating agent has a tris-(-6amino-2-pyridylmethyl)amine (TAPA) backbone and three thiourea ligands bonded to the three legs of the TAPA backbone, respectively. The transition metal bonds to the amino groups of the TAPA backbone, and the thiourea ligands hydrogen bond to the anion guest remote from the transition metal. The chelating agent has a symmetrical C3v tripodal cavity that is selective for tetrahedral anions. The transition metal is selected from the group consisting of cadmium, manganese, cobalt, nickel, copper, and zinc. The method of treating venomous bites, such as those from snakes and scorpions, involves treatment by the administration of a therapeutically effective amount of an aqueous extract of the fruit of Juniperus phoenicea, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, in order to treat the bites of venomous snakes, scorpions and the like, approximately 500 ml of an extract of the fruit of Juniperus phoenicea, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, is orally administered to a patient three times daily for a period of five days. In order to make the antivenin, formed as an extract of the fruit of Juniperus phoenicea, a quantity of the fruit of Juniperus phoenicea is ground, and then mixed with water. A method of scalar multiplication to obtain the scalar product between a key and a point on an elliptic curve, wherein the secret is m bits long. In selected embodiments, the first step is to partition the secret into two partitions each with m/2 bits. Point-doubling operations are performed on the point and stored into three buffers. Point additions are performed at randomized time intervals thereby preventing the method from being susceptible to differential power analysis attacks.

The environmental test chamber for wireless sensor networks includes a structural enclosure having peripheral walls. A dynamic topology builder is a hanging mechanism disposed in a ceiling portion of the structure and is used to suspend the wireless devices below the ceiling portion via a cable. A weather conditioning machine simulating environmental conditions is disposed at least one of peripheral walls. A controller sends commands to control the suspension height of the wireless units and to control environmental parameters of the weather conditioning machine. This allows the test chamber to test the communication and networking aspects of the wireless sensor network devices in different environmental conditions, such as sand storms and different temperatures and humidity levels, with a -3D topology specified by the controller.

The present invention is related to a method for routing image data from Camera Node to a Sink Node, where it May be processed in detail, in a Visual sensor network. In accordance with the present invention, wireless Intermediate Node are configured to route images based on first pass image encoding containing coarse image to the next wireless hop at a higher priority over the images based on the second pass encoding containing additional details of the images. The routing method for wireless Ad Hoc mobile and sensor network, periodically exchanges node status information to optimize the routing table, so that high priority image packets may reach the Sink Node in shortest possible path. The method ensures selection of high quality image packets for routing under the condition of collision and congestion to achieve optimal image quality receipt at the Sink Node.

The evaporative cooler (10) and pad (20) operates on the principle of cooling the air by evaporation of water (24) passing through one or more evaporator pads (20) in the cooler (10). The evaporation water (24) cools the air as it is drawn through the cooler (10) by an internal fan (38). The pads (20) of the evaporative cooler (10) and pad (20) are formed of luffa sponge fibers. The cooler (10) may include a device (42) for dispensing antimicrobial and/or antifungal agents into the water reservoir (22) of the cooler (10). Alternatively, the pads (20) may pretreated with antimicrobial and/or antifungal agents. A cooling fan (44) is provided in the interior of the cooler (10) to blow cooled, humidified air over the surface of the water (24) in the reservoir (22) before the water (24) is passed through the evaporator pads (20), thereby increasing the cooling efficiency of the system.

The catalytic converter for confined areas is installed with a vehicular tunnel, parking garage, or other confined area subject to motor vehicle operation therein. The converter catalyzes internal combustion engine exhaust by-products by selective catalytic reduction. The heat required for the catalytic reaction is provided by an electric heater installed with the converter, the converter being thermally insulated to retain the heat. The carbon dioxide and water vapor resulting from the catalytic reactions are gathered by the same fan or pump and the water vapor condensed to liquid form, and distributed to vegetation external to and adjacent to the tunnel or enclosure.

The solar, water desalination system includes a desalination chamber where fine water droplets are injected upward by an air atomizer towards an air-cooled condenser. Hot saline water is ejected vertically upward to double the contact time between the droplets and the surrounding air. The air is preheated by solar energy in parallel with an auxiliary heater to prevent lowering of the droplet temperature. Pumped air functions as a condensation media and to pull the salt water into the atomizer. This arrangement improves the heat and mass transfer inside the desalination chamber.

Inside the tank, a pump will be used to filter the hot water in order to increase the vaporized inside an isolated room which built for that purpose. Then the intensification of the steam on the inner surface of the outer casing of the room where the wall of the room consists of two covers ; and collect water which has been intensified on the inner surface of the outer casing to the outside of the room to get fresh drinking water . The low cost roofing techniques for construction of low-cost roofing. The techniques reduce the proportion of cement by employing substitute (low-cost) materials that may be readily available to mix with the cement. These substitute materials includes, but are not limited to, suitable agricultural wastes, such as rice husk ash, crushed used brick rubble, and pozzolana. The techniques involve forming a plurality of supports spanning the open space between the walls of the structure and mounting a plurality of dome-shaped sheet metal element on the supports, formalin a series of ceiling vaults. The concave surface of the dome-shaped elements forms the ceiling. The convex or outer surface of the dome-shaped elements forms the inner layer of the roof. The cement mixture is deposited on the convex or outer surface of the dome-shaped elements to form a second layer for the roof.

The cut stone construction and masonry method is a wall construction technique using the Flemish bond pattern and utilizing natural stone cut in blocks. The technique employs only vertically oriented semi-dry mortar layers between the stones. No horizontal mortar layers are used in the construction, except at the foundation level. An intelligent architectural display dividing system includes a foldable, retractable partition including a flexible TOLED display screen, which is used when deployed in an interior space. A controllable motor is used to controllably retract and deploy the transitory side of the foldable, retractable partition to change between a folded state and a taut state. A sensor generates a control signal for actuating the motor in response to detecting at least one of a user gesture and reception of a remote control signal. A processor includes circuitry used to respond to the control signal by actuating the motor to automatically retract or deploy the foldable, retractable partition and display a predetermined image from an image source on the flexible TOLED display screen when the foldable, retractable partition is deployed.

The ionophore and polymer membrane selective for aluminum (III) ion provide an ionophore that is selective for aluminum (III) ion [ Al3+ ].The ionophore is diethy (2-azobenzoic acid) malonate, which has the structure:

The ionophore may be used as a dopant in a polymer membrane formed from a polymer matrix, e.g., (vinyl chloride) (PVC), and that may also include a plasticizer, such as dioctylphthalate (DOP) and o-nitrophenylloctyl ether (o-NPOE). The polymer membrane may be incorporated into an ion selective electrode (ISE) that can be used as a potentiometric sensor for the detection of Al3+ ions in wastewater.

The potentiometric device and method selective for pioglitazone relates to the detection of pioglitazone in urine, in other liquid biological samples, and in pharmaceutical preparations for quality control testing and the like, and particularly to the use of a potentiometric sensor for potentiometric detection and measurement of the concentration of pioglitazone. The potentiometric sensor includes a plasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC) matrix membrane having an ionophore impregnated or embedded therein. The ionophore is an iodobismuth anion in which the iodobismuth anion forms a complex with pioglitazone. The polymer membrane is plasticized with either ortho-notrophenyl octyl ether (NPOE) or dioctyl phthalate (DOP).

The method to obtain accurate vertical component estimates in 3D positioning provides a closed-form least-squares solution based on time-difference of arrival (TDOA) measurements for the three-dimensional source location problem. The method provides an extension of an existing closed-form algorithm. The method utilizes the full set of the available TDOA measurements to increase the number of nuisance parameters. These nuisance parameters are range estimates from the source to the sensors, which the method uses for delivering accurate estimates of the vertical component of the source›s location, even when quasi-coplanar sensors are employed.

The differential ultra-wideband indoor positioning method provides differential positioning to increase the accuracy of ultra-wideband (UWB) based indoor position estimation. Knowledge about common errors can be learned by employment of reference source, where the difference between its known the estimated position (differential operation in solution domain), or the difference between the known and measured ranges (differential operation in measurement domain), provides invaluable information to be utilized in reducing errors in estimating the position of the target source. Differential operation accuracy reaches far beyond the accuracy of the non-differential setting.

The liquid-dispensing razor provides liquid flow from a plurality of small pores or orifices immediately below the blade(s), to moisturize the beard at all times during shaving. The liquid is provided from a remote source (water tap or portable container) through a hose or line connected to the razor handle. The liquid flows through a passage through the handle, to the razor head, where it flows from the pores adjacent to the blade(s). The razor may include a control valve in the handle, or a remotely located foot-actuated valve may be provided in the water hose or line. A hand- or foot-actuated pump may be provided to create pneumatic pressure in the portable liquid container to force the liquid up through the line. The razor head may be removed to fill the hollow handle with shaving lather or gel, the liquid flow entraining the lather or gel for shaving.

The liquid-dispensing shaving brush includes a number of embodiments that provide for dispensing water from the head of the brush and through the fibers or bristles of the brush. Some embodiments provide for connection to a water tap, and a hand control on the brush or a remote foot control providing for control water flow. Other embodiments provide a portable container for water, permitting use when a source of running water is not available. The portable container may be pressurized, and flow may be controlled either by the hand-operated valve on the brush handle, or by a remote foot control. Still other embodiments are self-contained, with a liquid supply contained within the handle. All embodiments may include a hollow brush handle volume for containment of liquefied shaving soap or cream therein, and an openable brush head or cap providing access for refilling the brush handle volume as needed.

The liquid-dispensing hair brush includes various embodiments, each having an internal reservoir for a hair grooming liquid. The liquid (oil, tonic, gel, etc.) is released from the reservoir to pass through passages in the teeth or bristles of the brush, for application to the hair and scalp simultaneously with the brushing of the hair. Certain embodiments have controls upon the handles, for releasing and/or bristles. Another embodiment includes a pneumatic bulb for applying air pressure to the reservoir. Yet another embodiment includes an internal plate with a series of stops extending therefrom, the stops corresponding to the internal pores of each of the teeth or bristles. A handle extends from the plate through the back of the brush for control of the flow of liquid from the reservoir.

The liquid-dispensing comb includes a liquid reservoir in the handle and/or spine thereof, with the teeth of the comb being hollow liquid to flow from the reservoir into the teeth. Outlets are provided along the sides of the teeth rather than at their distal tips, to distribute liquid to the hair strands as the comb is passed there through, rather than to the scalp of the person using the comb. Various embodiments include pneumatic devices for pressurizing the reservoirs of the comb, thus forcing liquid to flow from the outlets along the sides of the teeth. Another embodiment includes an internal plate with a series of stops thereon, the stops fitting into corresponding passages at the bases of the teeth. A handle extends from the spine of the comb, enabling the user the manipulate the internal plate to control flow from the reservoir and into the teeth.

A rail mounted wind turbine includes a pivotable housing placed between rails of a rail track. The pivotable housing can move into at least on upward position and at least one downward position and includes a wind turbine. The wind turbine has a blade that moves when a force, such as a wind force, is applied to provide mechanical energy to generate electrical power. An electrical generate communicates with the wind turbine to generate electrical power from the mechanical energy. A controller controls the movement of the pivotable housing into the at least one upward position and the at least one downward position. At least one sensor associated with the rail mounted wind turbine communicates with the controller to provide at least one signal to the controller to indicate a position of a vehicle operating on the rail track in relation to the pivotable housing.

Embodiments include a method and apparatus for preventing damage to the paintwork of vehicles caused by spillage of fluids or fuel when refueling. This invention relates to the preparation and making use of a catalyst for the photo-catalytic degradation of methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) in water. Palladium doped on composite cerium oxide-zinc oxide (Ce2O-3ZnO) photo-catalytic was prepared by wetness incipient impregnation method. The present study measure and evaluate the preventive/treatment efficacies and safety profiles of various single and combination regimens of known drugs and compounds on experimental models of colorectal cancer (CRC) and then compare it with commonly used anti-CRC cytotoxic drugs such as -5fluorouracil (-5FU) and Irinotecan. The present invention discloses a new diagnostic tool(s) for early detection of PCOS especially in female patients. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the worlds deadliest cancers, ranking as the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. The present invention discloses a potential therapeutic efficacy and synergy between ING4/IL12-, ING4/TRAIL, or IL12-/TRAIL genes that could represent a promising therapeutic strategy of cancer-targeting dual gene virotherapy for eradication of HCC. The present invention is related to a method of transferring sensor data in a delay insensitive network through wireless medium conforming to WiFi standards using smart devices as mules. The method works seamlessly without using extra processing cycles or data bandwidth than what would normally be used by the standards. The method also works without disturbing the owner of the smart device (Mule) for any permission. The innovative method uniquely embeds the sensor data as part of the IP address and uses the address as the carrying mechanism of the data itself. When the smart device reaches the vicinity of the collection hub, the method in the collection hub uniquely elicits the sensor data which is embedded in the IP address by initiating an ARP sequence at the smart device. Once the data is obtained the connection is terminated. The method works in any smart device that uses WiFi standard.

A smartphone graphical user interface (GUI) system for in-class student attendance checking includes downloading a course registration list on a professor’s smartphone, showing a master device interface on the professor’s smartphone, showing a slave device interface on a student’s smartphone, and asking the student to acknowledge the student’s class attendance. In addition, the system scans the student’s smartphone to receive the student’s acknowledgement, and replaces a device name of the smartphone of the student with an identification number of the student and verifies a status of classroom attendance of the student as either available or idle.

The present invention, SHAREK, is related to a method of matching a rider’s need to a potential available driver satisfying the distance, time and cost constraints. A scalable dynamic ridesharing method is proposed where the driver’s willingness to travel to rider’s location is considered. To efficiently return these skyline results, SHAREK tries to avoid the shortest path search by adopting smart pruning strategies in two main phases based on a reasonable price model using (a) Euclidean distance in the rider’s time and cost constraints as an upper bound to prune those drivers that cannot make it to satisfy the rider; (b) tighten the bound by combining the Euclidean distance and the road network distance (i.e., the shortest path) in the cost constraint to prune more drivers, and (c) embeds skyline processing in this semi-Euclidean pruning phase. Experimental results, based on real and synthetic data, show that SHAREK is scalable and feasible for large scale dynamic ridesharing applications. The proposed innovation can easily be applied in smart devices with IP, wireless (WiFi) or GPS capabilities to match riders and drivers dynamically in real-time

A corrosion inhibitor for steel against exposure to acidic fluids contemplates a mass of metallic nanoparticles and a diquaternary Schiff dibase loaded on the metallic nanoparticles. In accordance with invention , the metal nanoparticles are selected from the group consisting of silver, zinc, cobalt, manganese and mixtures thereof. The invention also contemplates a method for synthesizing an efficient corrosion inhibitor for petroleum equipment, pipelines, joints and steel plates in an acidic medium.

The present application discloses a method of synthesizing metal-based cationic surfactants and further their usage as anti-tumor and anti-bacterial agents. For the synthesis, selenius acid is mixed with sulfonamide to form sulfonammonium hydrogen selenites. Cobalt and Platinum hydrogen selenite dehydrate were then synthesized, and refluxed with sulfonammonium hydrogen selenites to form the disclosed Cobalt/Platinum ammonium hydrogen selenite complexes. Both complexes were mixed with cyclodextrin oligosaccharide to form nanoparticles, which were tested for anti-tumor/cancer and anti-bacterial effects.

A system and a method detect a presence of a roadblock and perform an evaluation of a vehicle›s approach to a located at a flat road surface, or an upslope road surface or a downslope road surface. A roadblock sensor system includes a transmitter, a receiver and processing circuitry. The processing circuitry includes a road surface slope information detector, a roadblock information detector, a road surface and roadblock information calculator, a decision processor, a vehicle speed controller, a vehicle navigation controller and an impact reduction controller.

An automatic ironing system and method comprise a volumetric enclosure configured to receive an article to be steamed, and a base configured to support, power, and provide steamed water to the volumetric enclosure. The system also comprises a rotary engine configured to rotate the article when activated, and at least one steam nozzle configured to direct steam towards the article. The system also comprises a receptacle configured to receive condensed steam from the volumetric enclosure and to recirculate steam for re-use, and a controller configured to monitor one or more variables of the automatic ironing system and adjust parameters according to instructions.

The color education system for the visually impaired is a battery-powered device including a console having a plurality of color identification modules mounted on the top platform, each of the rectangular members being formed of a unique color and having a corresponding touchpad sensor mounted thereon. The touchpad sensor has a Braille inscription mounted thereon spelling the color of the rectangular member in Braille. The touchpad sensors are connected to a processor that identifies which touchpad has been touched by a user. A voice synthesizer connected to the processor is programmed to announce the color associated with the touched by the user. A speaker or headset is connected to the audio output of the voice synthesizer, thus allowing the user to hear the announced color. Each rectangular member also has a well defined therein, and a vial containing a pigment dye of the corresponding color disposed in the well

An oil-less pump sampling system for portable environmental testing. The system includes an oil-less pump that generates a suctioning force, an external hose carrying the suction from the pump and in fluid communication with a control value and a collection container. The control valve is fluidly connected to the external hose to regulate the flow of suction, and the collection container is fluidly connected to the external hose for suctioning a sample from the surrounding environment. The internal assembly of the pump includes an electromagnetic coil generating an electromagnetic force to move a plurality of magnets. The magnets oscillate to move a plurality of lever arms which move a plurality of diaphragms to create the suction force from a valve block. A plurality of internal hoses stems from the valve block and joined at a connector to carry the suctioning force to the external hose.

The herbal composition for treating diabetes is a mixture of medicinal herbs, including gymnema (Gymnema sylvestre), bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus), Asian ginseng (Panax ginseng), fenugreek ( Trigonella Foenum-graecum), marshmallow (Althaea officinalis), «true cinnamon» (also known as «Ceylon cinnamon» or « Sri Lanka cinnamon») (Cinnamomum verum), bitter melon (also known as «bitter gourd») (Momordica charantia), autumn crocus (also known as «meadow saffron») (Colchicum autumnale) , bay laurel (Laurus nobilis),colocynth (Citrullus colocynthis) and prickly pear (also known as «cactus pear») (Opuntia Ficus-indica). Preferably, the herbal components of the above composition are dried, ground and packaged in a teabag or the like, allowing the composition to be delivered to the patient as an aqueous extract, similar to a conventional herbal tea. Preferably, about 5 grams of the composition are contained in the teabag, which is steeped in about 150 ml of boiling water for between about three minutes and about five minutes

The clothes drying rack has a generally horizontal rectangular frame with a series of intermediate lateral members and support legs. The various element are formed of hollow pipe or tube, with most being perforated. Additional perforated tubular members depend from the lateral members. A portable fluid supply unit is remotely situated from the frame and connected to a non-perforated leg of the frame by suitable duct, with the fluid supply unit having a fan therein to provide air to the tubular frame to flow from the perforated tubes, thereby circulating through clothing suspended on the frame. The fluid supply unit may also include a water dispenser and a heating element therefor, to produce steam to reduce wrinkling of the clothing. A fragrance tank and dispenser may also be included with the fluid supply unit, to dispense a pleasant fragrance through the frame and to the clothing suspended thereon.

An emergency barking System for a vehicle, said system being independent of the primary service braking system for the vehicle, wherein the system includes a first cone-shaped copper brake member mounted coaxially on the vehicle drive shaft for limited axial movement but is prevented from rotation by cooperation with a housing fixed to the vehicle chassis, and a second cone-shaped copper brake member fixed coaxially on the drive for rotation with the drive shaft and telescopically received in the first brake member. A cable extends from the first brake member to the cabin of the vehicle so that the driver can move the first brake member axially into contact with the second brake to slow or stop the vehicle. The first brake member is normally biased out of contact with the second brake member.

The convertible bookstand cover a pair of inner cover and a pair of outer covers pivotable with respect to the inner covers. A pair of first and second hinges couples each outer cover to the respective inner cover to facilitate pivotable, unfolding movement of the outer covers. Each outer cover desirably unfolds to about 90 degrees from the folded position to from a vertical bookstand support. A pair of third hinges permits the inner covers to pivot between a closed and unfolded position. When unfolded, the inner covers also form a bookstand support in concert with the outer covers. Each inner and outer cover can be provided with magnets to securely latch an outer cover to the respective inner cover and prevent inadvertent unfolding thereof.

A wireless emergency detection and alert system includes a primary wireless emergency communication deice having an emergency detection and alert application to determine the presence of an emergency condition, based on information received indicating an emergency condition from a sensor associated with the primary wireless emergency communication device, and to execute at least one of a visual or sensual alarm of the at least one to detect emergency condition by the primary wireless emergency communication device and to wirelessly transmit an alert signal and an alert message of the detected emergency condition to at least one secondary communication device, the alert message including at least one of an SMS message, a text type message or a voicemail. The primary wireless emergency communication device also generate an audible alert, a visual alert, or a tactile alert, an alert message or combination thereof, in response to the detection of an emergency condition.

The tactile feedback glove incorporates a plurality of pin actuators disposed inside the glove. Actuator pins point towards bottom surfaces of a user’s hand inside the glove. A plurality of pivotally attached joint members is disposed inside the glove. The joint members are arranged proximately above top surface of a user’s hand inside the glove. The pin actuators have a rectangular actuator body with bores sunk through a parallelepiped actuator body surface and arranged in a row-by-column matrix formation of solenoid cores in the bores. The pins slide up and down inside sleeves extending from the solenoid cores. The joint members are arranged above a user’s intermediate, proximal, and distal phalanges. Motor control of the joint members determines the angular displacement of the joints directing and limiting hand motion inside the glove.

The device includes a heart rate monitor that alerts the user when his or her heart rate is too high, a GPS unit showing the location of holy sites of interest, a monitor for keeping a count of the number of perambulations around a holy site ,e.g., when performing a Tawaf, an audio playback device that will play back a prayer or scripture, such as the Dua›a, and an annunciator for announcing prayer times.

The multisensory system for the blind includes a cane, a boot, a headband, and central control device. The cane, the boot, and the headband may each include one or more sensor to detect obstructions in the path of the user. The present invention discloses an apparatus and a process of using the apparatus to generate an electric energy in a crowded place. A method for predicting the California bearing ratio of a pavement sub base layer, wherein samples are collected from different regions of the sub base layer, the samples are tested to determine at least moisture content and density. Each sample is prepared at optimum moisture content and at different densities and tested of variables. A multiple linear regression model is applied to selected variable from the dataset to relate the determined California bearing ratio value to the selected variables from the dataset to obtain a predicted value of the California bearing ratio of a sub base having comparable variable.

The objective of this work is to develop a class of semiconductor materials that exhibits very high mobility at room temperature. GaN is chosen for its wide bandgap that makes doping effective in controlling the electrical properties of the material. Since, very high mobility can be acquired using a band structure similar to superconducting material, a brief summary of these materials will be presented. There is already one material under consideration for its super semiconducting characteristics which is Graphene. Because of it monolayer structure, Graphene is difficult to handle. The limited size of Graphene wafer will lend this material to discrete device applications. Modified GaN on the other hand will be more suitable for MMIC applications.

The unprecedented popularity of online social media services has led to explosive growth in size of micro blogs data, e.g., tweets, facebook comments, and foursquare check in›s. nowadays, micro blogs are flowing everywhere, in different languages, around the clock forming a rich stream of data that carries rich explicit data and implicit data. For some rich stream, existing data stream management system are not equipped to handle the newly emerging real-time queries and applications on micro blogs. Thus, a plethora of micro blogs research is being conducted to support data management on the new paradigm of data. However, the research efforts in these directions are scattered with no ease access to the existing technology. In this paper, we present our vision towards a unified data management framework foe scalable and efficient support of real-time queries on a micro blogs data. The framework would support queries on a rich set of micro blogs data attributes and employ a hierarchy of different memory tiers that store data differently based on its oldness. In addition to digesting incoming micro blogs in real-time, the framework would be able to manage a large archive of micro blogs for queries that cover wide or old temporal ranges.

A container into which used sharps can be deposited immediately following their use and carried to a second container into which the used sharps can be dumped for subsequent disposal without having to directly handle the sharps following their use. A top wall is normally latched closed and is opened to deposit used sharps into the container. A normally 5 closed end wall is opened so that the used sharps can be dumped from the container. The container has a pistol-type grip for carrying it, and in a first embodiment a rearwardly biased pusher is slidably mounted in the container and moved forwardly by depressing a trigger on the grip. In a second embodiment, the pusher is biased forwardly and is latched in a rearward position. The trigger is connected with the latch to release it so the pusher can move 10 forwardly.

A dental instrument and a dental kit comprising multiple dental instruments are disclosed for use in dental examination, extraction and reconstruction procedures. Each dental instrument is composed of three detachable components: the handle, the arm and the head. These components are connected to one another during assembly through magnetized hexagonal projections and hollows of -0.51.0 cm in length or depth to provide fast and sturdy connections between the components. Multiple versions of the arm and the head are provided to enable different angulations, different configurations and sizes of a single type of dental instruments, different types of dental instruments to be assembled during the dental treatment procedure. Embodiments disclosed herein help to create a neat and orderly working environment for the dental professional wherein the multiple tools required for a procedure are provided in a compact kit.

The beaded prayer device also includes a power source and processing circuitry that can detect contact between two or more adjacent beads, store bead contact data in memory, and transmit the bead contact data to one of a plurality of RFID readers. A voluntary reporting apparatus performs report generation and includes a check-in interface to receive patient identification information. Knowledge of the vehicle›s lane position is required for several location-based services such as advanced driver assistance systems, driverless cars, and predicting driver›s intent, among many other emerging applications. We present LaneQuest: a system and method that leverages the ubiquitous and low-energy inertial sensors available in commodity smart-phones to provide an accurate estimate of the vehicle›s current lane. LaneQuest leverages the phone sensors about the surrounding environment to detect the vehicle’s lane. For example, a vehicle making a right turn most probably will be in the right-most lane, a vehicle passing by a pothole will be in a specific lane and the vehicle angular velocity when driving through a curve reflects its lane. The ambiguous location, sensors noise, and fuzzy lane anchors; LaneQuest employs a novel probabilistic lane estimation algorithm. Furthermore, it uses an unsupervised crowd-sourcing approach to learn the position and lane span distribution of the different lane-level anchors.

The development of anticancer metal- based drugs was done by reacting oyelamine with selenous acid to produce a quaternary ammonium salt which consequently converted to platinum and cobalt cationic complexes via complexing the first compounds with platinum (II) or cobalt (II) ions. The surface properties studies that were conducted included critical micelle concentration (CMC), maximum surface excess (Γmax) and minimum surface area (Amin). Free energy of micellization (ΔGomic) and adsorption (ΔGoads) were calculated. Antitumor activities were tested by using Ehrlich Acites Carcinoma (EAC) as a model system of mice cell tumor. These compounds were also tested in vitro on human five monolayer tumor cell lines: MCF7 (Breast carcinoma), HEPG2 (liver carcinoma), and HCT116 (colon carcinoma), etc . FTIR spectra, elemental analysis and H1 NMR spectrum were performed to insure the purity of the prepared compounds.

– 12 يف الدم إىل 54 بيكوجرام / مليل لرت. وكذلك الجاما – انرتفريون زاد

تركيزه إىل 69 بيكوجرام/ مليل لرت.

تركيز ارتفع الجرماين الجلوتاثيون األميني الحامض باستخدام -3

االنرتلوكني – 12 ىف الدم إىل 51 بيكوجرام/ مليل لرت. وكذلك الجاما –

انرتفريون زاد تركيزه إىل 63 بيكوجرام/ مليل لرت.

من هذه النتائج يتضح أن الحامض األميني امليثيونني الجرماين هو األكرث

املناعية االنرتلوكني – فاعلية حيث أنه األكفأ يف رفع نسبة الربوتينات

12. والجاما – انرتفريون يف الدم. وبذلك يكون هذا املركب هو األحسن

يف تنشيط جهاز املناعة وهو األفضل يف االستجابة املناعية ضد أمراض

االلتهاب الكبدي والرسطان واإليدز.

• We introduce a GIS based navigational game in which the game actions are mapped to a set of therapies.

• The game is gesture based. Hence a user with disability can play the game with his/her gestures.

The present invention relates to a method of transferring data from a device in a network seamlessly that operates using a particular protocol, to another device that is either in the same network or outside operating in a totally different protocol. Today, to accomplish this requires external units, one per technology. For example, for supporting both WiFi and WiMAX devices today, we would require a WiFi access point, a WiMAX base station and a router. Instead, using this invention, we provide plug-ins that would handle multiple protocols within the same gateway, to cater to devices that operate in those protocols. The Multi-protocol Gateway that easily translates between various protocols in the back end making it inexpensive and portable. The unit is scalable, grows with technology, and acts as a gateway to a local network. The device can be configured to address Quality of Service, Priority between technologies and fault- tolerance through management layers.

The Map++ as a system and method that leverages standard cell-phone sensors in a crowd sensing approach to automatically enrich digital maps with different road semantics like tunnels, bumps,bridges, footbridges, crosswalks, road capacity, among others is described. Our analysis shows that cell-phones sensors with humans in vehicles or walking get affected by the different road features,which can be mined to extend the features of both free and commercial mapping services. We present the design and implementation of Map++ and evaluate it in a large city. Our results show that we can detect the different semantics accurately with at most %3 false positive rate and %6 false negative rate for both vehicle and pedestrian-based features. Moreover, we show that Map++has a small energy footprint on the cell-phones, highlighting its promise as a ubiquitous digital maps enriching service.

The present invention relates to a method, Dejavu, a system that uses standard cell-phone sensors to provide accurate and energy-efficient outdoor localization suitable for car navigation. Our analysis shows that different road landmarks have a unique signature on cell-phone sensors; For example, going inside tunnels, moving over bumps, going up a bridge, and even potholes all affect the inertial sensors on the phone in a unique pattern. Dejavu employs a dead-reckoning localization approach and leverages these road landmarks, among other automatically discovered abundant virtual landmarks, to reset the accumulated error and achieve accurate localization. To maintain a low energy profile, Dejavu uses only energy-efficient sensors or sensors that are already running for other purposes. We present the design of Dejavu and how it leverages crowd-sourcing to automatically learn virtual landmarks and their locations. Our evaluation results from implementation on different android devices in both city and highway driving show that Dejavu can localize cell phones to within 8.4 m median error in city roads and 16.6 m on highways. Moreover, compared to GPS and other state-of-the-art systems, Dejavu can extend the battery lifetime by %347, achieving even better localization results than GPS in the more challenging in-city driving conditions.

Embodiments include a vacuum head portion and a combined suction and blowing mechanism configured to agitate and remove debris. A set of powered fans provide an external pressured air source to provide pressured air for the blowing mechanism. The vacuum head portion may include blowing and suction nozzles arranged with the blowing nozzles flanking the suction nozzles. The set of powered fans may be driven an electric motor or via air turbines disposed in an air stream of the suction nozzles. The blowing nozzles may be in parallel rows adjacent to the suction nozzles. A photon detection apparatus that includes a photon detector configured to detect single photons. The apparatus includes: a time-to-voltage converter circuit generating a signal proportional to the time interval the photon detector exceeds a reference threshold. Thus, it is the length of time the photon detector exceeds the threshold rather than integrated signal from the photon detector that indicates whether a photon is detected. A second threshold test then discriminates detection events based on the output signal from the time-to-voltage converter.

• This innovation is about using the 3D motion sensing LEAP device to detect, recognize and track the rotational and angular movement of different joints of the hand and deduce kinematic and therapeutic data from these movements.

A centralized bandwidth broker (a special network server) functioning as a domain manager in an internet network having differentiated services architecture is responsible for receiving and replying to a large number of requests and for performing huge numbers of resource management tasks at the inter- and intra- domina level. Consequently, it can have scalability issues. According to the invention the bandwidth broker maintains an experience database in addition to information about other aspects of the network, and use iterative learning for solving scalability issues by using information of previous good experiences to take future resource management decisions. Based on similarity with previous network and request conditions, the new decision can be taken without executing resource intensive algorithms. The database of experience is continuously update for optimized iterative learning. Processing overhead is reduced, enabling a single bandwidth broker to manage big network with large numbers of users.

مكان أي شخص وتحتوي أيضا عىل نظام خاص لتفادي االصطدام.

ويحتوي الجهاز عىل موضعني لحمل األشياء، املوضع األول عبارة عن

حجرة داخلية بعازل حراري توضع فيها األشياء التي يكون قطرها أصغر

أو يساوي50 سم. واملوضع الثاين عبارة عن ماسك خارجي لحمل األشياء

ذات األحجام الكبرية. وأيضا يحتوي الجهاز عىل واجهة رسومية تعمل

باللمس لعرض وإدخال البيانات الالزمة.

Unmanned aircraft which transfer stuff from a person to another using a special navigate system that can locate anyone›s place. Also, it has e a special system to avoid collision. This apparatus contains two places for carrying stuff. The first place is an internal compartment with a thermal insulator which can carry things with in 50 cm dimension. The other place is an external holder to carry heavy stuff. It also contains a screen that work to enter and show the data.
