OTN
OTN(Optical Transport Network)
Una red de transporte óptico (OTN) esta compuesta por un
grupo de elementos de red (NE) conectados por enlaces de
fibra óptica y está en capacidad de proporcionar funcionalidad
de transporte, multiplexación, enrutamiento, administración,
supervisión y autosostenimineto de las señales de los clientes
de acuerdo a los requerimientos dados en la recomendación
G.872 de la ITU.

Comparado con SDH y SONET:
Gran capacidad con excelente precisión, Tbps por fibra en
líneas DWDM
Transparencia en el servicio para las señales de los clientes
Mapeo asíncrono, funciones FEC avanzadas y reducción de
costos
Comparada con WDM tradicional:
OAM mejorado y funcionalidad de red para todos los servicios.

ODUk (TDM)
Las señales ODUk de bajo orden son multiplexadas en
señales ODUk de alto orden por división de tiempo:
Hasta 4 señales ODU1 se pueden multiplexar en una señal
ODU2 por TDM.
Una combinación de j señales (j 4) ODU2 y 16-4j ODU1
pueden ser multiplexadas en una señal ODU3 por TDM.
