The Memorial Stones of the 1923 Kanto Earthquake in Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture

We conducted the survey of the memorial stones of the 1923 Kanto Earthquake built in Saitama City. Detailed information about damage by the Earthquake is described on the memorial stones of the Hikawa shrine (Minuma-ku), the Jousenji temple, the Daikouji temple, the Kawadouri Elementary School, the Ryuumonji temple, the Shoufukuji temple, the Shinmei shrine and of the Sui shrine. We also noticed contribution for rebuilding written on the stones. Keywords: Saitama City, the 1923 Kanto Earthquake, Memorial Stone
