Contents of Agreement

1. The City of Yokohama will offer technical advice in promoting sustainable urban development of Bangkok in the area such as energy management, public transportation, solid waste and waste water management, etc.

2. The Parties will encourage participation of the private sector, academic institutions, and local communities which have expertise and knowledge on low carbon society development to achieve the above mentioned objective.

3. The Parties will call for support of Central Governments of both sides and international organizations in pursuing appropriate assistance to implement technical cooperation.

4. The Parties will share and exchange information which is essential to implement the above collaboration effectively.

Project Title:

Study on the Accelerating Implementation of Bangkok Master Plan on Climate Change through the JCM

GeneralOutlines of the Project

The study explores the development of GHG reduction project contributing to the implementation of the Bangkok Master Plan on Climate Change currently under development, by making project plans of such GHG mitigation potentials as JCM projects. Low carbon technology exchange and transfer will be promoted as part of Yokohama‐Bangkok memorandum of understanding on sustainable urban development.

GHG Reduction Project (JCM Project) Finding Seminar• To boost formulation of JCM projects, project finding 

seminar will be organized, inviting stakeholders in Bangkok and Yokohama (Public and Private)

GHG Reduction Project (JCM) Match‐making Session• For facilitating communication between Bangkok and 

Yokohama stakeholders, match‐making session will be organized, aiming at FS or project finance by the Japanese Government.

Low Carbon Technology Expert Dispatch/Diagnosis • For the benefit of Bangkok stakeholders (public/private), 

low carbon technology experts will be dispatched to provide analysis for improvement of project site (facilities, production processes etc).

Visits to Japanese Organization with Low Carbon Technologies • To follow up information exchange in Bangkok, Bangkok 

stakeholders (Public/Private) will visit Japanese organizations, with clean technologies, and develop concrete ideas for JCM project development

Low Carbon Technology Demonstration• Not only discussion, Bangkok stakeholders will be invited to 

touch and learn clean technologies, for possible application. Demonstration is a major feature of the activities. 

Low Carbon Technology Dialogue• For proposing a project for financing, and better 

application of Japanese technologies for JCM project, a low carbon technology dialogue will be organized in Japan.
