TheMinturnParadewasheldonSaturdayJuly5th

TimFentondrovehis1947ChevyLoadmasterintheCarbondaleParade.JimBingaman’s,TaylorSerson’s,andTim’schildrenarethecandythrowersinthebackofthetruck.

TGC found a uniqueway to sponsor theannual Gypsum Dazeconcert; donating allthe pet rocks for thekids’todecorate.Thekids’ craft areawas ahit!

The Gallegos Corporation sponsored theBattleMountainBoysBasketballSummerLeagueteam.TheircoachTommyPadillasaid the summer leaguehelped theplay-ersimprovefornextseason.

TheGallegosCorporationandVailAmericaDaysParade

Whatstartedasasimplerequest fromtheTownofVailbecameapassion forGeraldGallegos. Around1999,TheTownofVailaskedTheGallegosCorporationtosponsortheVailAmericaDays4thofJulyParade,andGeraldjumpedatthechance.Hehadal-waysenjoyedcelebratingthe4thwithhisfamilyandfriendsathisfamousLobsterandClamBake,andsponsoringtheparadebe-cameanopportunitytoextendthecelebrationtothewholecommunity.TheGallegosCorporationparticipatedintheparadeforyearsbeforetakingonthesponsoringrole,andjumpedatthechancetodomoreforthelocalcommunity.

TheemployeesatTheGallegosCorporationcaughthisenthusiasmforthiscommunityevent,andhaveembracedtheVailAmericaDaysParade.DaniEttles,AccountingManager,remembersmakingtheFlintstone’sthemedcostumesforthe2001“FromtheStoneAgetotheModernAge”float.ThereplicaofMt.Rushmorefrom2005isanotheremployeefavorite,aswellastherockwaterfallwithrunningwater.GeraldGallegoslovedtheStoneBirthdayCakeFloatmadeforformerpresidentGeraldR.Ford’s90thbirthday.Aftercreatingthefloatsandsomeyear’sthecostumes,Gallegos’employeesandtheirfamiliescontinuetovolunteeryearafteryearonthefloatsandattheirtwotentsinVailVillageandLionsheadVillage.

Whentheparadeisoverandthe4thofJulyhaspassed,thebeautifulpiecestheGallegosCorporationbuildsforthefloatsaredonat-edwithinthecommunity.In2002,theGallegosfloathonoredAmerica’sFallenHeroesandishungattheVailFireStationNumber2.Twolocalelementaryschools,AvonElementaryandGypsumElementary,havegranitemapsoftheUnitedStatesintheirfrontlobbyfromtheGallegos2010float. Duringthe2010-2011schoolyear,TheGallegosCorporationheldacontestforall localele-mentarystudentstowriteanessayabout“WhatMakesAmericaBeautiful”.Thewinnerswereinvitedtoparticipateonthe2011floatandwonthemapfortheirschool.Lastyear,TheGallegosCorporation’smarbleshopcreatedaColoradoYulesculptureen-gravedwithVail’s50thlogo,withthetopprofilematchingthepeaksoftheGoreRangefortheirfloat,andthendonatedittoTheTownofVail. IthasapermanentplaceintheTownCouncilbuildingandservesasthebackdropforallTownCouncilmeetings.Thepiecebeingmadeforthisyear’sparadefloatisinspiredby2015FISWorldSkiChampionshipsbeingheldinVailandBeaverCreek.KeepingtruetoTheGallegosCorporation’stradition,thisyear’sfloatwillhaveaplaceinthecommunity.

CongratulationstoBenHarrison(21)forwinningtheG3awardforMay2014.BenwasnominatedbyJimBingaman.Jimwrote“Bentakespridein his work at the Gallegos Corporation, and always makes decisionsbasedon thecompany’sandclients’best interests.
