Replying to Offers回复学校的入学通知

The Ways of Replying回复的方式 Firm Acceptance 第一志愿 (first / preferred choice, only one)是排在第一位的，最想去的学校和专业，但是入学要求相对来说可能

高一点。只能选择一个第一志愿。 Insurance Acceptance 保底志愿 （第二志愿） (back-up choice, only one)是作为保底的学校，相对第一志愿而言，入学要求可能会低一点。也

只能选择一个保底志愿。Note: you have to choose one as your firm acceptance.

However insurance choice is not necessary.注意：必须要选择一个第一志愿。至于第二志愿，可以选也可以不选。

Four combinations of replies and offers:在回复页面上，可能出现的几种情况：a) Unconditional offer + firm acceptanceb) 无条件录取通知作为第一志愿c) Conditional offer + firm acceptanced) 条件录取通知作为第一志愿e) Conditional offer + firm acceptance conditional offer + insurance acceptance一个条件录取通知作为第一志愿，另一个作为保底志愿d) Conditional offer + firm acceptance Unconditional offer + insurance acceptance条件录取通知作为第一志愿，无条件录取通知作为保底志愿（这种情况不是很

The Dates to Reply to Offers

ExtraApplication Deadline: 24, Feb ~ 4, July申请的截止日期： 2 月 24 日至 7 月 4 日Eligibility申请 extra 需要符合的条件：1. Used all five choices 使用完所有的五个选择2. Decisions have been made by all unis or colleges 而且学校对五个选择都已经作出了决定3. No offers (unsuccessful) 没有收到任何的录取通知书（申请未成功）4. Declined all the offers you have received 自己拒绝了所有五个录取通知书Note: decline offers and add an extra choice, impossible to accept any of original

choices later在拒绝了所有的五个录取通知书，再增加一个 extra 的选择的情况下，是不可能收到原有的五个

Steps of Applying申请的步骤

1. Course search – entry profile 课程搜索 – 入学有关信息2. Contact uni or college 自己和学校联系3. Choose course and enter the details 选择课程，然后填入课程的相关信息4. Ucas send application to uni or college Ucas 把学生的申请发给大学5. Application in extra 在 extra 中找到你的申请Note:注意：Choosing a course选择一个课程a) Considering related or alternative subjects 考虑一下相关的课程b) One choice at a time 一次只能申请一个专业c) To make sure the place is still available before you add it 一定要确认在你申请这个专业的时候，这个专业是有的，并可以获得的。d) Extra choice can not be changed until 21 days have passed一旦选择了一个专业后，在 21 天内是不能改变的。

What happens next?接下来怎么做？

If you accept an offer, you can not apply anywhere else.如果你收到了录取通知书，你就不能再申请另外的专业。If you decline an offer, or rejected by the uni or college, you

can apply for a different choice.如果你拒绝了录取通知书，或者被学校拒收，那么你可以再申请另外

的专业。 If you have not received a decision, you can also apply for

a different choice within 21 days of applying to uni or college.

如果你在申请学校专业的 21 天内没有收到学校的录取通知书的话，你可以申请另外一个专业。

If you don’t get an offer in extra, you can apply through “clearing” process.

如果你没有在 extra 中得到任何的录取通知书，那么你可以通过“清场”程序申请。

for 2012 你自己拒绝了一个专业的录取通知书，或是学校给了申请未成功的决定，而且你已经付了所有专业 22 英镑的申请费。6. Ucas reveive your application after 30 June, they will not sent it to any unis and colleges. What you need to do in clearing在清场中需要做的

Depends on yield rate 取决于该大学的拒绝率 You may need to wait for one more round, or wait

until the last round 你可能只需要等一轮，也可能需要一直等到最后一轮。

Wait-listed students who eventually earn admission are often notified in June, but the decisions could drag on through much of the summer. 被列入候补名单的学生一般会在 6 月收到录取决定，但是也有可能会一直等到暑假期间才收到录取决定。

Confirmation Form 确认表 It is time to return the card or fill out the

online form to indicate your interest in staying on the wait list. 填写好大学给你的确认表表明你还想继续留在候补名单里。

Many colleges want an answer on your decision by mid-April. 许多大学都需要在 4月中旬前收到你的确认表。

If you are wait-listed by more than one school, you can only pick one.如果你在一所以上大学的候补名单里，请选择其中的一所确认。

What You Should Do你应该怎么做 Accept another offer, pay the necessary fees and

begin taking the steps to secure housing and picking classes. (before May) 从你收到的录取通知中选择相对最适合你的一所，付定金并开始登记宿舍和注册课程。（ 5 月之前）

If the dream school offers you admission later, you can simply notify the other college that you‘ve been accepted off the wait list at Dream University, and you’re no longer planning to attend their school. 如果你理想的大学后来给你发了录取通知，你只需要通知你已经注册的大学你已决定去刚刚被录取的 xx 大学了。

You will lose whatever deposit and fees you‘ve paid. 你唯一的损失就是你的定金。

Letter of interest 意向信 express your commitment to the school. State that

the college is your No.1 choice in your letter and say you will attend if you are taken off the list.表达你对该校的青睐 : 该校是你的首选，如果该校录取你，你一定就读。

In the letter, relay in one short paragraph why the school is a good fit for you, whether it‘s an academic program or an extra-curricular activity, and how you would contribute to the campus community. 在信中用一小段来讲述为什么该校适合你：某个专业，项目或者课外活动，还有你的加入将会对该校有何贡献。

You can also call and ask if you can interview, especially if you haven‘t interviewed already. Some colleges permit this for students on the wait list. Try to schedule the meeting with the dean of admissions, and make your case directly. 如果你还没有被该校面试过，你可以写信或打电话请求一次面试机会。尽量约招生办主任，这样决定回更快更直接。

Denied by Your dream college?被拒了？

embrace your backup colleges and try to see the positives in them拥抱你的第二选择，积极面对。

If your second choice school turns out to be a poor fit after a year, you can try to transfer.如果你的第二选择真的不适合你 ，一年后你可以选择转校。

To do list for entry (HK) 香港入境事宜 Submit the application of the visa/entry permit at

upon receipt of the student visa label, apply for an ‘Exit/entry Permit for Traveling to and from Hong Kong and Macau’ (EEP) and a relevant exit endorsement from the Public Security Bureau office where your household registration is kept

收到签证标签后前往户口所在地的公安局出入境管理部门办理港澳通行证及赴港签注

Stick the visa/entry permit in your passport and EEP, and show them to the border officer when you enter HK. Note: the visa/entry permit is not valid until it is stamped by the border officer. 将签证标签贴在护照及港澳通行证上，并且在入境时向当值官员出示签证 /入境许可证，获盖章后，方为有效
