วัฏจักรของสาร : กระบวนการเคลื่อนย้ายแร่ธาตุจากสิ่งแวดล้อมเข้าสู่สิ่งมีชีวิต และจากสิ่งมีชีวิตคืนสู่สิ่งแวดล้อม มีการเปลี่ยนรูปสารไปและกลับมาเช่นเดิมเป็นวัฏจักรเพื่อรักษาสมดุลของธรรมชาติ

วัฏจักรของคาร์บอน (Carbon cycle) - C อาจปรากฏในรูปสารอินทรีย์ เช่น CO2 หรือปรากฏในรูปสารอินทรยี์

เช่น คาร์โบไฮเดรต ไขมัน โปรตีน ปิโตรเลียม และถ่านหิน (peat)

- กระบวนการที่เกี่ยวข้องกับวัฏจักรของคาร์บอน ได้แก่

1. กระบวนการทางกายภาพ ได้แก่ การเผาไหม ้2. กระบวนการทางชวีภาพ ได้แก ่การสังเคราะห์ด้วยแสง การหายใจ

การย่อยสลายโดยจุลินทรีย์

• Carbon จากธรรมชาติมีการทับถมและแปรเป็น “ถ่านหินและปิโตรเลียม” ซึ่งเมื่อเผาไหม้แล้วจะได้ CO2 คืนสู่อากาศ • การรักษาสมดุลของ CO2 เกี่ยวข้องกับการอยู่ในรูปสารละลาย carbon ในมหาสมุทรเช่น HCO3

- / CO3-2

• ความเข้มข้นของ CO2 ของบรรยากาศต่่า คงที่เพราะมีทะเลเป็นแหล่งเก็บที่ส่าคัญ

• Carbon อาจถูกเก็บในรูปสารประกอบกับ Ca เป็น CaCO3 ซึ่งพบได้ในสิ่งมีชีวิต และหินปูน • Bacteria บางชนิดสามารถปรับสภาพแวดล้อมเป็นเบส ซึ่งจะท่าให้ CaCO3 ละลายเป็นรูป HCO3

Nitrogen fixation การตรึงก๊าซ Nitrogen จากอากาศลงสู่ดิน เกิดได้ 3 วิถี คือ 1. Biological fixation ซึ่งจ่าแนกเป็น 2 พวก คือ

1.1 Free living nitrogen fixation หรือ Non-symbiotic nitrogen fixation

1.2 Symbiotic nitrogen fixation 2. ปรากฎการณ์ทางธรรมชาติ 3. การใช้ปุ๋ย การท่าฟาร์ม

Ammonification การสร้างแอมโมเนีย เป็นปฏิกิริยาการสลายโปรตีนในสิ่งมีชวีิตให้

กลายเป็นแอมโมเนีย โดยอาศัย รา เช่น Actinomycetes อาศัยแบคทีเรียเชน่ Ammonifying Bacteria

– Pseudomonas – Proteus – Micrococcus

เปลี่ยน Metabolic Waste, Amino Acid หรือ Protein เป็น Ammonia (NH3)

ความอุดมสมบูรณ์ของดินต่่าลง (Nitrate ในรูปที่พืชสามารถน่าไปใช้ได้น้อยลง)

ความเข้มข้นของ NO3 ไม่มากจนเป็นอันตรายต่อพืชและสัตว์น้่า

Sulfur Cycle

Sulfur is the main component in many kinds of amino acid. (Cydtine, Cysteine, Metionine)

The livings can use sulfur in form that is soluble in water, such as SO4

2- , or inorganic reducing agent, such as H2S that is oxidized by O2 or O3 and turns to sulfurus (SO2

-).

Some of them are collected in charcoal, petroleum, or atmosphere.

Phosphorus Cycle

Phosphorus is the component of ATP, cell membrane and genetic material of the livings in form of phosphate ion (PO4

3-).

Phosphorus is always collected in rock. NO LIVINGS can reduce or oxidize phosphorus. It is insoluble in water. But it can be ionized by acid.

Phosphorus cycle is happened in soil, water, and livings. Not in atmosphere.
