Trophies are presented to the top players at the end of every term. Students will also have the opportunity to represent Wesley at inter-school tournaments. The program teacher, George, has been playing top level tournament chess for over 25 years and teaching chess for more than 10 years.

Students are taught basic concepts of mathematics and science, while explaining the principles behind the working of the model. We build educational models like amusement park rides, vehicles, buildings and cranes.

Students are provided with Lego kits, motors, batteries and visual instructions and we build new models each week.

Wesley Lions Gymnastics offers a range of classes for ages prep to adult and cater for abilities from beginner to high level athletes.

Gymnastics teaches basic and complex movement patterns that stimulate brain development. Children develop confidence in their ability to control their bodies through enhanced spatial and body awareness and by developing coordination, strength and flexibility.

We specialise in men’s and women’s artistic gymnastics and have gymnasts training at high levels in both these sports. The gymnasium is fully equipped with a high standard of artistic gymnastics apparatus including a sprung floor, in-ground trampoline, a foam pit and a variety of learning aids.

Basketball Days:Location:Cost:

Tuesday, Friday & SaturdayMelbourne Sports & Aquatic CentreApproximately $70.00 per term

Wesley Junior Basketball is an additional competitive sporting option for current or enrolled Wesley students from Years 1 - 6. Teams of between 6 – 9 players are formed at each year level and can be single sex or mixed. Teams compete in the Playball Competition on Tuesdays (Years 4 – 6) or Fridays (Years 1 – 4).

They also compete in the Port Phillip Basketball Association competition on Saturday afternoons. Wesley Junior Basketball relies on parent support for team managers and coaches.

There are over 18 teams and 200 players so teams fill quickly.

For all program dates, times or any additional information, please contact the Program Coordinators.

Please ensure that you have registered your child before they attend any After School Programs. This allows the provider adequate time to prepare staffing requirements.

• Soccer, karate and chess enrolments will be booked through Community College. Please complete the enrolment form and send it to [email protected]

• Please contact the relevant Program Coodinator if you wish to enrol in other After School Classes listed.

All students who are not collected by their parents from their after school class will be taken to Aftercare. As this is run by an external provider, Extend Aftercare, we encourage all children to be registered for Extend Aftercare, in the event you are late in collecting your child.

If your child needs to go to Aftercare, you will be charged the relevant fee for the service.
