Buffet style for breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday

Menu is different everyday, but the same every week

Have set meal times to eat in the dining hall

All cutlery and cookery provided, just return when done

If you can’t make it back for lunch, you can pack sandwiches

(ta pau)!

If you can’t make it in time for dinner, you can order a late

meal

+ Student residences

Catered v non-catered

Benefits of catered

convenient, saves a lot of time since you don’t have to cook

meals are pretty balanced and choices are varied

can make friends easily and quickly since you interact with

people a lot during mealtimes

Page 8: ANU MSO Pre-departure Presentation 2013

+ Disbenefits of catered

- fixed meal times, so if you miss them you don’t get to eat

can get repetitive for some people

food is catered to the average Australian’s tastebuds, so there

won’t be much (if any) spicy food

significantly more expensive than non-catered halls
