Les BIJOUX Oya sont nés du métissage de la tradition dentelière turque et du regard voyageur de Christine Delpal, créatrice de la marque Karawan. La rencontre forte et prometteuse avec Hanifa et ses soeurs, villageoises d’anatolie, fut une évidence. Karawan s’engage depuis sa fondation pour la valorisation de savoir faire artisanaux des Routes de la Soie, par la création de collections singulières que Christine revisite par le design, pour les maintenir vivants, dans une démarche d’économie solidaire.

Christine DELPAL a conçu la COLLECTION YAMUNA en référence aux malas, ces bracelands de prière tibétains, égrenés par les bouddhistes. Les chaînettes en chapelet sont façonnées à la main par les joaillers de Jaïpur. Elle revisite la tradition en les parsemant de pierres fines facettées et de perles d’argent ou d’or frappées de motifs indiens. Un luxe essentiel, à vivre chaque jour. YAMUNA est le nom d’un affluent premier du Gange. Il borde le Taj Mahal. Une inspiration d’éternité, une ferveur évanescente qui mêle l’invisible à la matérialité de toute beauté.

Oya laces are born from the intense and promising encounter of hanifa and her sisters; from a village in Anatolia they know the traditional art of Turkish lace, with the travelling eyes of Christine Delpal, founder of Karawan. Since then, Karawan is committed, through its foundation, to the promotion of the traditional knowledge of the Silk Roads. Christine revisits this traditional art with her design to create unusual collections, to protect this knowledge in a process of solidarity economy.

Christine DELpAL, Karawan’s designer, has created this collection in reference to the malas, the Tibetans prayer bracelets used by Buddhists. The rosary chains are hand-made by jewelers in Jaïpur. Tradition is revisited by adding faceted semi-precious stones and silver or gold beads. An essential luxury to enjoy every day yAMUNA is the name of a tributary of the Ganges. It lines the Taj Mahal. An inspiration from eternity, an evanescent fervour, which mixes the invisible with the extremely beautiful materiality.

Le verre issu du recyclage y est récolté et trié par couleurs : bleu, vert, brun, transparent... Karawan-Authentic fait une nouvelle escale au Maroc. Christine Delpal a travaillé avec Nourredine, artisan engagé dans la formation et la préservation d’un savoir faire traditionnel. Cette collaboration a donné naissance à une gamme de trois tabourets en bois de citronnier avec un cannage en feuilles de Palmier Doum, arbre qui marque la frontière entre les zones arides et le climat méditerranéen. Idéal comme siège d’appoint au salon ou au jardin, il invite à partager un thé à la menthe et quelques pâtisseries en toute convivialité.

Karawan-Authentic make a new stop in Morocco. Christine Delpal worked with Noureddine, craftsman involved in the formation and preservation of traditional know-how. This collaboration has resulted in a range of three stools made with satinwood and caning made of leaf from Doum palm tree, wich marks the boundary between arid and Mediterranean climate.
