A two volume book bound by hand and hinged together to mimic the cyclical and complementary nature between society and our waste. The books feature experimental film photography detailing the forgotten and overlooked eccentricities found throughout Michigan’s landscapes.

As societies live and die, they leave behind traces of their existence; objects
and artifacts of bygone times� Rarely does a society live amongst their relics;
our mass consumption has granted us the opportunity to see exactly what
we are leaving behind� While there is beauty in our decay, we need to find a
natural balance between our coveted goods and the waste left in their wake�
This series is a compilation of photographs taken throughout michigan between 2010 and 2011�
THese photographs are a culmination of travelled miles, missed expiration dates, (sub)urban
sprawl, planned obsolescence, derelict lots, civic decay, and; most importantly; human waste�
